required amount then it may cause the malfunctioning
of the immune system by abnormally releasing the
antibodies. The immune system is responsible for

• Toxic adenoma: The growth of the thyroid nodule
produces and secretes excess amount of hormones, and thus causes toxic adenoma. Though this
type of thyroid nodule is not benign tumour which spreads in the nearby area of the neck, but it
can cause the fluctuate pain while swallowing while drinking water or eating the food.

• Subacute Thyroiditis: It is one of the forms of the Thyroditis that can be caused due to the
excess release of the hormones by the thyroid gland. It causes the inflammation of the thyroid
gland, and can be easily eradicated by proper treatment.
In contrast, the hypothyroidism is caused due to very low level of the hormones secreted by the thyroid
gland. Generally, the thyroid hormones are responsible for the production of energy and somehow

• Excess amount of the iodine- The body may get excess amount of iodine from the medicines
