1. TVM PRESS RELEASE
NOVEMBER 11, 2015
The Village Method (TVM) young scholars from Alvarado and Cesar Chavez Middle School helped to raise
awareness of the importance of volunteerism during their day off on Veteran’s Day last Wednesday.
Scholars and family members went to the Alameda County Community Food Bank and spent the day
making a difference by working to create healthy food bags that will be donated to cities like Union City and
the organizations that support families with emergency food needs.
The scholars appeared on KGO Channel 7 news as part of a kickoff of the annual Give#WhereYouLive
Thanksgiving campaign to benefit the food bank. Weather news anchor, Spencer Christian from ABC7
News, along with the Oakland Raiderettes, Golden State Warriors cheerleaders helped keep the excitement
up for over three hours while TVM volunteers prepared food for those in need.
Thank you to the volunteers, family members, and TVM staff for making a difference in our community. It
