This document summarizes a family tree project by Mariela Torres. It discusses the structural, functional, environmental, and task constraints of her family members over multiple generations. The structural constraint notes heights ranging from 5'2 to 5'7. The functional constraint discusses a great-grandmother who had cancer. The environmental constraint describes both sides of the family growing up in rural areas. The task constraint outlines farm work and walking done by past generations.
2. INTRODUCTION
• The purpose of this project is to show how individual constraints affect us. This
constraints help us understand the way we act with society and family. It also
lets us know where we come from and the reason why we are in
appearance and the type of environment we are used to living in. The areas
that will be pointed out from Newell's Model will be the structural, functional,
environment and task constraints.

4. STRUCTURAL
• Great grandpa was 5'7 (Dad side)
• My dad even thought he is small size he has an amazing strength
• Every older generation has lived up to their 90’s
• I believe the main reason why I am 5'2 is because of my dad's side of the
family. We all range from 5'2-5'7 if not shorter.
5. FUNCTIONAL
• One of the fears is that my great grandma from my mom side of the family
had cancer which eventually killed her
• My grandma is motivated to do her regular check up so that she can detect
the possibility of having cancer
• My mom has to experience the fact that she might have it
• I look at it with a positive mindset. I try to stay active and healthy so that
when I am older try to prevent the possibility of having it.
6. ENVIRONMENT
• Both my mom and dad great grandparents grew out in the country
• Eventually my grandparents from both side grew into the country life an they
liked it so they stayed
• My mom is from a Christian family but I do not consider myself to e Christian I
just firmly believe in god
• So I grew up in the country life as well and I love it!
7. TASK
• My great grandparents did not have vehicles so they walked everywhere.
• My grandparents also walk all over the ranch which has lots of acres.
• My mom works out to maintain her sugar level down and my works in
landscaping so he is always outside.
• I grew up in the country so I was always doing outside labor since I can
remember. I've been an active girl and continue to exercise so I can prevent
any health problems.
8. DISCUSSION
• The purpose of this project was to point out the different constraints we have
as humans.
• This helped us understand a little better who we are and the where we got
the different characteristics that identify us.
• In each constraint it seem that both side of my family had the same quality.
• I strongly believe that’s the reason my mom and my dad are happy together
because they come from similar backgrounds.
