1. Create a rich writing environment by providing
varied writing materials such as:

o Work books (writing, coloring, number, shapes)
o Coloring materials, chalk, markers, clay, blocks
2. Establish pleasurable and enjoyable writing
through:
o Assistance to child’s writing attempts
o Encourage identify what she writes
o Invite the child to observe the adults write
o Respond to child’s queries with information &
explanation

1. The school must take home literacy as the basis for early
literacy instruction
2. Must collaborate with the parents to better understand the
individual learner
3. Must always recognize the individuality of each learner
4. Must always consider that each child is an emergent

5. Must recognize that learners are active constructors of their
own learnings, but teachers’ scaffolding is necessary, and is
minimized until they can work independently.
