2. Introduction
Children
can and should take care of their
environment and for this reason in the World
Environment Day (July 5th), the World
Association of Early Childhood Educators
(WAECE) shows a Decalogue for children
with tips of how they can help environment.
3. DECALOGUE
This consists of 10 “gold” rules for children to learn and
help themselves:
One of these rules is to take recycling as a child's
game: Recycling is to put everything in the right
colour cube. There are different containers for each
type of waste, according to their material.
Separating it can be very entertaining for children. This
may be fun for them.
4. Another
is to save water: Water is a
scarce commodity.
When they brush their teeth after
eating or their hands before every
meal, they shouldn’t forget to turn off
the tap.
Tell them that the world is grateful with
them for do these, It’s a way to make
them do it happier.
5. DECALOGUE
Teach they shouldn’t
throw things on the floor is
another rule that we
should say to them: If
they don’t see any
bin, they have to keep it
in their pocket and throw
it at home in the
corresponding cube
colour. We must teach
them that they have to
be complicit with the
people who work for the
good of our environment
(garbagemen)
6. DECALOGUE
How
to make a game to have the light on in
the smallest possible time, and care for living
things (as plants) because they couldn’t
breath without them, are other of the
numerous rules of this project.
7. CONCLUSION
These
rules are an example of how we can
teach children in a fun way without being an
obligation and with these ways, make children
have fun while they are learning indirectly to
take good habits for their future. This is the
reason of the WAECE created this project.
