3. THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY
SPIRIT IS THE MANTLE OF
POWER OVER YOU
ONCE YOU RECEIVE IT,
AND OUTWARD MANIFESTATION OF GOD’S POWER
WILL FOLLOW YOU.
4. We are under a New Covenant.
• In OT times, only those uniquely called and anointed by God,
received the Holy Spirit.
• But now under the NT, every believer is offered the promise of
the Father.
• Luke 24:49 (NKJV)
• 49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry
in the city of Jerusalem[a] until you are endued with power from
on high.”
5. KINGDOM POWER
1 Corinthians 4:20 (NKJV)
• 20 For the kingdom of
God is not in word but
in power.
• The reign of Christ through
believers is backed up by the
dynamic power of the Holy Spirit.
• Kingdom ministry involves signs,
wonders and miracles, to
demonstrate the power of God
through the Holy Spirit.
• We need to cry out unceasingly
that God restore the dimension of
miracles in the Church in our days.
• We cannot give up, we need to
continue asking God to restore the
wonderful Power of the Holy Spirit
in our lives and ministries.
6. THAT POWER IS
AVAILABLE TO US
• Acts 1:8 (NKJV)
• 8 But you shall receive power
when the Holy Spirit has
come upon you; and you shall
be witnesses to Me[a] in
Jerusalem, and in all Judea
and Samaria, and to the end
of the earth.”
• We are promised to receive
POWER.
• The Greek word for power is
“dunamis”; from where the
word dynamite comes.
• This power clearly is for a
manifested reason:
• To be Christ witnesses
7. Power = Dunamis (Dynamite)
• Dynamite, is a powerful
explosive that is used for
mining.
• It breaks all sort of rocks and
mountains.
• Also used to construct roads
and demolish impediments
that are stopping the advance
of a project.
• When this power comes upon
you, you are able to use it
and break down every wall,
every barrier or rock that is
impeding your advance.
Every hindrance on your way
will be blast away when you
use this giving dunamis by
the Holy Spirit.
8. WE NEED THIS POWER TO
BE EFFECTIVE IN WHAT
JESUS COMMANDED US
TO DO
MARK 16:15-18
9. To be effective witnesses for Christ
• Acts 1:8 New King James Version (NKJV)
• 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come
upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me[a] in Jerusalem, and
in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
• Without the Power of the Holy Spirit, all we have is our human
efforts. But we need the supernatural in order to make a
difference.
10. To carry out great exploits
• Daniel 11:32 New King James Version (NKJV)
• 32 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt
with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong,
and carry out great exploits.
• No difficulties will stop those who are empowered with the
mantle of the Holy Spirit
11. For the Great Commission
• Matthew 28:18-20 New King James Version (NKJV)
• 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has
been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore[a] and
make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching
them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I
am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.[b]
12. To destroy the yoke of bondage
• Isaiah 10:27 New King James Version (NKJV)
• 27 It shall come to pass in that day
That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder,
And his yoke from your neck,
And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.
• No yoke can resist the power of the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
• We need the cloth of power from above to be able to break the
yoke.
13. To mount up with eagles’ wings
• Isaiah 40:29-31 New King James Version (NKJV)
• 29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
14. To show the world that we are
Jesus’ followers
• Mark 16:17-18 New King James Version (NKJV)
• 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name
they will cast out demons; they will speak with new
tongues; 18 they[a] will take up serpents; and if they drink
anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay
hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
15. That people may see that
The Mantle of Power is on us
• Acts 5:15-16 New King James Version (NKJV)
• 15 so that they brought the sick out into the streets and
laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of
Peter passing by might fall on some of them. 16 Also a multitude
gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick
people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and
they were all healed.
17. Power comes from three different sources:
• God. Positive power.
• Satanic. Negative power.
• Human. Can be controlled by God’s power,
or by satanic power.
• We only can bind the evil and spoil his works by the power of
Christ that is conferred to us. Otherwise, we cannot confront evil
powers on our own
18. HOW WE RECEIVE THIS
ANOINTING, THIS
CLOTHING FROM ABOVE
WE HAVE THE EXAMPLE OF ELISHA
20. FOR US, AS CHRISTIANS
OUR AUTHORITHY
COMES FROM THE WORD OF GOD
Many Christians have ordered to evil spirits by quoting scriptures, but
without a proper understanding of the scriptures and a lack of knowledge
they fail.
That is why Bible Study needs to be taken seriously!
Many, if told them to open certain book in the bible, will go looking for the
index.
We must be diligent with our Bible studies.
21. • Our authority as believers is exercised in the name of Jesus.
• The very moment a person is born again, authority is
automatically conferred to the believer.
• Authority is the legal right of a Christian, and we should claim it
and exercise it.
• Authority is given to all Christians without measure.
22. Luke 10:19 (NKJV)
•19 Behold, I give you the authority to
trample on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy,
and nothing shall by any means hurt
you.
23. FOR US, AS CHRISTIANS
THE POWER THAT WE EXERCISE
COMES FROM THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
• Power is operated by the anointing of the Holy Spirit
• Power will back the command you are given.
• Power will enforce your right as a Christian.
• That is why you can see different levels of activation or
operation between two Christians. One can order an evil spirit
to leave, and will immediately go; while other will use the same
words and even shout louder, but the spirit will stay!
24. We have received an order
from the Lord Himself.
• It is possible in fact, to have authority without power, which
could bring many disasters.
• This is why the presence of the Holy spirit is so indispensable,
so vital in our Christian life.
• Matthew 10:8 New King James Version (NKJV)
• 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead,[a] cast out
demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
25. HOW ARE WE CLOTHED
FROM ABOVE?
LET’S CONSIDER ELISHA
26. 1 Kings 19:19-21 (NKJV)
• Elisha Follows Elijah
• 19 So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of
Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him,
and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and
threw his mantle on him. 20 And he left the oxen and ran after
Elijah, and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother,
and then I will follow you.”
• And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to
you?”
27. • 21 So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and
slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen’s
equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he
arose and followed Elijah, and became his servant.
28. LET’S LEARN SOMETHING
FROM ELISHA
The immediate response from Elisha to the Lord’s call.
He ran after Elijah and became his servant.
He minister to Elijah.
• Please, don’t make excuses to the call of God in your life.
• Don’t try to be ready, or finish studies, or pay your mortgage…
• If you want the mantle of power, you must make up your mind now.
• Nothing, absolutely nothing compares to the glorious anointing that
God wants to put on your life.
• There is a mantle for you to take.
29. 2. No looking back.
• Elisha put certain things in order before following Elijah.
• He slew a couple of oxen and gave to the people to eat.
• It was a farewell party so to speak.
• It was a prophetic active declaration of saying: My sustenance
in not any longer from my possessions.
• God has become my sustainer.
• He burn everything that was attaching him to this life.
• Once he moved towards his destiny, he never turned back.
30. Give everything to the Lord
• He didn’t try to retain anything he possessed.
• After the party, say farewell to the family and left.
• God wants you, and all what is dear to you.
• Don’t hold anything, give everything to the Lord.
• People in ministry, sometimes hold onto something, just in case;
and at times they will lose it because they are holding onto it
31. IT’S TIME TO PRAY!
FORGET ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL SITUATION.
WE’LL CALL TOGETHER FOR HIS MIGHTY PRESENCE.
TO BURN US WITH THE FIRE OF HIS LOVE.
TO ANOINT US WITH HIS POWER.
TO ACTIVATE THE GIFTS WITHIN US.
TO LIGHT AGAIN THE FIRE THAT ONCE WAS ON.
TO BRING US BACK TO OUR FIRST LOVE.
