1. Online and Mobile Computing: Requirements Document (Version 1.0)
Project: Expanding Business to Online and Mobile Computing

1. Introduction
This document contains the system requirements and limitations for expanding the business to
online and mobile computing. These requirements have been derived from several sources, noted
in the reference section of the requirements document.
2. Purpose of This Document
We expect business executives to understand the requirements and limitations of online and
mobile computing through the use of this document.
3. Requirements
Some requirements for expanding a business to online and mobile computing would be
the IT support team specializing in database administration, network security, and hardware
support meaning the servers and equipment. The warehouse support, which would include the
shipping, packaging, etc. You will also need a programmer right away, they will build your
online tools and interface. If you include these three requirements you can successfully make the
change.
The top three requirements for safe mobile computing are securing mobile devices and
data, controlling mobile access to enterprise, and enabling centralized enterprise IT management
2. of all mobile devices resources according to Jacob Vargis. The first requirement includes
Applying strong authentication to ensure authorized access to devices, applications and data. Use
antivirus software, firewall, and encryption to protect all data and information. Issue and enforce
timely updates of OS patches and virus definition files to every device (Vargis, 2010). The
second requirement includes registering all mobile users on the enterprise directory servers.
Authenticate all devices and mobile users prior to allowing access to enterprise systems and
resources. Apply, enforce and activate secure network protocols such as VPN, port management,
etc. (Vargis, 2010). The last requirement includes deploy and enforce enterprise IT policies
and mechanisms. Continuously monitor, manage and maintain (update) mobile devices. Clean
devices of all sensitive information if lost or decommissioned (Vargis, 2010). In my research I
found these three requirements for security extremely important, because every customer trusts
you will give them a safe website. When following these steps you can ensure your customers
safety while using your website.
3.1. User Requirements
The user would be the customer accessing our website. In my research I have seen some
requirements used to offer a better experience for our customers. I found that having an intuitive
website that is easy to use will help customers out while accessing our website. When it comes to
the design of the website I would not include anything flashy or too distracting. Customers want
some design but nothing too crazy. Be sure to include a decent font. A proper size would be not
too small, but not too large. Also be sure to include a work flow process, and a help desk to
allow customers to submit issues in order for them to be resolved quickly. These requirements
can make or break a website, the most important thing is to create an easy website to use. Not
everyone is a computer expert.
3. 3.2. System Requirements
Some system requirements you can include in your new website would be windows 7 or
later version. This is a common product used on computers today. You will need a good
operating systems. You will need at least 64 gigabytes of memory to store everything you will
need for your website. You will have to have one terabyte of hard drive space. Monitor minimum
SVGA (800x600) with 256 colors (1024x768 with 16-bit color or higher recommended). CD-
ROM drive: A CD-ROM or DVD drive is required to install the software from the CD.
Alternatively, the installer can be downloaded from our website and installed without an optical
drive. Internet connection: An Internet connection is required if you want to use the product's
optional Internet-enabled features. Lastly, any printer supported by the above operating systems
(PaloAlto, 2015). These requirements will help make the website include many great features for
both our customers, and our business.
3.3. Interface Requirements
When choosing a browser for your website you have a few requirements you need to
follow. Be sure to have your webpage on multiple browsers, for example Mozilla Firefox and
Google Chrome. Those are the two popular web browsers used. If you do not include all of the
frequently used web browsers than your website will not work properly causing the customer to
have a frustrating experience on our webpage. Be sure to allow our business to be accessed from
any mobile device. This will allow customers to use anything from a smart phone to a laptop out
of their own convenience. Create an app for our business as well, because if a customer really
enjoys our business they will want the app for convince too.
4. Limitations
4. Some limitations know for expanding a business to online and mobile computing would
be competition. You have other company similar to ours we have to compete with. Doing
research on other companies similar to ours would definitely help us out. We also need to
consider the overhead cost to start up. The cost of industry, for example the servers and
computers. This is a big deal because we need to make sure we have enough money for the
overhead cost. Supply and demand would also be an example of a limitation. Supply including
the inventory, meaning everything we will need to buy and have. Demand would be getting
customers to come to a new business or website. These are minor limitations that should not get
in the way of Stunning New Horizons Unlimited start up.
