I have been asked by Dr. Manes Pierre to write this letter of recommendation on his behalf. It is a pleasure to do
so.
I met Dr. Pierre three years ago when he joined the English faculty at DuVal High School as a full-time faculty
member. Since that time, I have had the opportunity to work closely with Dr. Pierre on many projects and I have
found that he is the consummate professional. He is well organized, focused, disciplined, and determined to do
his very best. He completes tasks with ease and confidence and he is a true leader. He is dependable,
hardworking, and works well with others and he relishes the opportunity to lead discussions, to share his ideas,
and to probe those of others, always with clarity of language and with logic and reason.
Dr. Pierre has the personality, intellect, and drive to excel in whatever role he decides to undertake. He is well
liked by and respected by his peers and he stands out in the crowd. He has a passion for learning, a love for
reading, a talent for writing, and a gift for critical thinking and analysis. In short, Dr. Pierre is an outstanding
teacher, leader, and administrator. He is intellectually curious, fascinated by words and ideas, and possessed of
iron-fisted will and determination to complete his educational goals.
For the past two years, Dr. Pierre served as Chairperson of the Department of English. In that role, he led the
Department with conviction and integrity. He was one of the best Chairpersons at DuVal High School. This
year is currently serving as FAC Chairperson at DuVal High School and Sponsor of the Spanish Honor Society.
