2. Objective
• Much of the most contemporary and provocative three-dimensional
art is generically related to the figurative sculpture of the past.
Further, the medium of sculpture has been extending into everyday
materials considering historical, cultural, or environmental concept. In
this project, students explore the potential of material (cardboard)
sculpting their head portrait out of cardboard.
• Students will make a 20 in self-head sculpture out of cardboard.

Material: 3000 Nespresso and Keurig single-use coffee pods that were pulled out of the ocean.

6. Day 1: Sketch
• Take your picture (Head) from front and side
• Trace the outline of your head (side and front) enlarging to the
appropriate size
• Create a basic structure
