2. Ryan was born in Brisbane, Australia in 1984. As part of a musical family Ryan first picked up a guitar at age 6. When Ryan reached high school he started playing school bands and with friends and it was there that he discovered he had a fantastic voice to coincide with his already 10 years of strumming guitar.
From high school Ryan went on to front punk rock band “Week Of Saturday” that saw some local success and also support roles for successful acts such as “Frenzal Rhomb”, “Machine Gun Fellatio” and “ Screaming Jets” to name a few.
After this early success and still at just the young age of 19, Ryan found his musical tastes maturing and left the teenage angst of 90’s punk and found the world of “roots music”.
2006 saw Ryan hit the recording studios. In Byron Bay he recorded a stack of self penned originals of many genre including pop, soul, rock, country, reggae and funk. After 15 years of solid gigging around Australia, especially South East Queensland and Northern Rivers region in New South Wales music career took a turn for further and much wider reaching success when he was discovered by his current manager Mana Manawatu, former A&R and Radio Promotions Specialist at one of the worlds most successful indie labels Musik and Film Records USA, whilst playing in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland in Sept 2014.
Within days Mana had Ryans self written originals in front of some of the USA’s most noted industry contacts and their response was one of career changing enthusiasm for Ryan’s talent. Ryan began recording his debut single release “Invited” with producer Stephen Wrench,( nominating/voting member for the Grammys-former manager part time member for 21 years of Lynyrd Skynyrd, multiple gold and platinum producer/artist/writter and former VP of RCA Records Nashville). Terry Nails is playing bass (Ozzy Osbourne, GnR, Janis Joplin). Jon Wilkes on Drums (Paramore, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Secondhand Serenade). Fantasia’s horn section and keyboardist and one of the best producers/sound engineers and guitarist around today Eric Charlton. “Invited” will be the first release from Ryans upcoming album due for release early-mid 2015.
Ryans music has come of age. He now has the right team around him and will no doubt become a household name in the near future.
