Mitigating child mortality and neural abnormalities(Autism) using IOT and AI

Child death from preterm birth complications (35%), intrapartum-related complications (24%)
and congenital abnormalities (11%) comprising 70% of total mortality rate. Under this vital
context, the emergence and legitimate need of our solution addresses an IOT toolkit based AI
solution for both mother and child (fetal stage to under 5 age). Considering that, Neurogenic
complications are the key connector of preterm birth or intrapartum complications including
under 5years of aged children who have the greater presumption of intraventricular
haemorrhage, infrequently, which might lead to permanent brain injury.
Considering the child mortality rate in Bangladesh (30.2 per 1000) around 9700 would die at
maternal stage by 2020. Where our solution promises to save 70% of total death from preterm,
intrapartum complexities and would also ensure reduction of child neural abnormalities (autism)
by 27% among 3.2M+ newborn babies each year.
We are prescribing a solution, indicating neural development related to congenital neurogenic
complications (NTD, Spina Bifida, Anencephaly etc.) through AI, will implement a iEEG based
wearable device which covers a digital stethoscope (predominantly diaphragm and bell)
together with a blood measuring meter and lancets along with needles. Which enables neural
upswing from blood-glucose measurement and hormonal fluctuation through equable screening
for the under five children specially designed for preterm birth babies in Bangladesh. The project
was emerged on clinical study which exhibits the pertinency of the technological prowess for
conducting pregnant mothers, who can procreate healthy babies without any preterm birth
complications.
Data driven intelligent chatbot app, in collaboration with IOT toolkit( iEEG and Monitoring
Device) that promises imminent risk detection, health condition prediction and possible medical
treatment/response.
Thus, ensures that, mother going through a proper maternal period by the help of our chatbot's
instructions and in terms of emergency our Iot powered data insights would come into
immediate action with machine learning prediction in treatment and emergency decision making
for doctors. We believe the mental and physical condition of a mother is the main key to
influence and reduce abnormal baby born or neonatal complexities.
The solution includes :
- A wearable iEEG band (Performs appropriate screening through assembling the signals of
brain both pregnant mother and infant)

The birth rate in Bangladesh is 17.714 per 1000 people indicating that around 3.18M new born
babies would add up the total population by 2020. Wherein considering the 30.2 child mortality
rate (per 1000) around 9700 would die at maternal stage from preterm(35%), intrapartum-
related complications (24%), sepsis(15%), congenital abnormalities(11%) and
pneumonia/diarrhoea/tetanus (7%). Where our solution promises to save 24,400 lives. A total of
6790 children lives would save from neonatal causes in 2 years (70% of total death) + 5420
children lives in 2 years, total of 10840 from the risk of autism, where the rate of autistic baby
born is 17 out of 10k in Bangladesh(A total of 5420 autistic child among 3.18M newborn babies
each year)
Our app based AI + IOT solution also includes feedback and emergency support pipeline that
would help in collecting and evaluation of data regarding child mortality and complexities. Thus,
would provide significant insights about child mortality rate in targeted population in real time.
Our groundbreaking effort is to reach a specific goal through our projected device where U5MR,
NMR and IMR will be minimized.
Our verification strategies includes:
- 14,000 Community clinic based data collection network using medical health worker/volunteers
for a real time insights and outcome measures of our project.
- App based interface to access data directly from mother's using our app.
- In app free of cost telemedicine based feedback and support helpline (like 999)
