Meghalaya is a geographically isolated region of India where subsistence farmers traditionally grow organic potatoes, rice, and vegetables on small plots of land. However, the isolation from markets has prevented the region from reaching its full economic potential in cultivating spices, herbs, fruits, nuts, and tea for which the cool, rainy climate is suitable. The startup Zizira aims to release this potential by connecting farmers to markets.
