Sales Trader, specialising in MM and Liquidity funding for the business, playing a part in it becoming a full
branch as of September 2014. As well as daily MM balance sheet functions I am currently helping run the
CD funding programme, (U$ 8Bio) liaising with Arrangers, Dealers and IPA's. The role encompasses
using the Interbank Market to find new sources of funds with new counterparts, on-boarding, KYC and
Due Diligence, AML procedures.
Daily Cash flow analysis, management and Money Market trading is central to the role as the Bank
expands it balance sheet and requirements grow on a monthly basis. Trading with other FI’s and Large
Corporate clients along with Nostro management and cash reconciliation with Operations department.
Implementing, improving procedures is also as on going project to adhere to regulatory standards.
Basle III, Liquidity Coverage Ratio, Liquidity Buffer Assets and Capital Requirements is a current
theme as the Bank builds the Branch balance and LCR has been attained in a short space of time using
HQLA diversification and the London network for Bank and Corporate funds as well as the extensive ICBC
Branch network worldwide.

“Bayern LB” is an International Bank 50% owned by the State of Bavaria with a focus on Capital Markets, Business
Finance and Wholesale Money and FX Markets.
Confirmation Clerk to Payments division and Reconciliation’s, moving into the Front Office MM & FX dept. in
my first year. As Positions Clerk ,Junior Dealer / Dealer running the smaller currencies books I.e FRF. ITL, SEK etc,
for the London Branch. This led me to specialising in FX Arbitrage for the funding of higher returns from the
currencies. After the Euro came into being I moved to also assisting on the GBP MM book.
2005/6 to Director of the banks MM and FX operations taking charge of GBP, USD, EUR and minor CCY cash
Money Markets and FX cash flows, as the Fixed Income Derivatives and MM Dept merged. This involved
overseeing the change in product line and pricing methods with Trading and sales of STIR Derivatives and a closer
working relationship with my Corporate Dealers and FI clients directly. Loans and Deposits, Certificates of
Deposit, Corporate Paper, LIBOR setting (until end 2006), GBP Bills, FRA's, FX Spot and Forwards, as
well as short end Derivatives including Short Sterling Derivatives Futures and Interest Rate Swaps,
Forward Foreign Exchange Multi Currency Arbitrage, along with ALM requirements to ensure high
profitability for the Bank in by using all currencies to produce best rate and liquid cash flows along with Corp /Client
liaison profitability and instant electronic pricing systems and methodology.
My Fixed Income and Money Market, STIR Sterling and Major Currencies Cash portfolio was in excess of
£3 billion at its peak with the full use on a Discretionary Basis of Interbank Loans and Deposits and FX Markets
to ensure Liquidity correctly administered throughout London and International Branches, Trade
Originations and Positional Off Balance sheet Derivatives Hedging and Corporate Relationships.
2007 onwards, Liquidity Risk and Operational risk amongst many other Risk factors that dominated the
Wholesale MM for the next few years. I reduce balance sheet size, Liquidity gaps and along with introducing and
overseeing implementation of many new work flow, Analytical & Pricing Systems allowing the my section to
maximise all uses of cash flows within the London Branch to remain profitable and reduce as much risk as
possible whilst maintaining Client and FI relationships and fulfilling client orders.
 Off balance sheet hedging with short term swaps o/n in the SONIA / Interest rate swap with IMM swaps
and using FX Arbitrage produced high returns whilst reducing risks.
 Extensive use of Summit trading systems, Reuters Dealing, Reuters Platforms, Insertlink platforms,
Excel spreadsheets, Bloomberg, Sungard, Markitwire and many other information technology systems.
 The profitable return from Client hedging and Corporate flows varied in the region of approx 5mio to 15
mio Euros totalling over 50 mio in last 5 years with prevailing interest rates being a large effect on yields
naturally. This was an approximate yield of 10 – 15 % as part of my operations.
 Assert Liability Management, MLRO duties and Compliance Risk controls were my priority as other
large Financial names (Northern Rock and Lehmans) encountered serious problems and I was very active in
implementing, maintaining and reducing the Banks Liquidity, Delta, Daylight exposure, Settlement and
VAR risks over the next few years and in constant liaison with the Central Bank of England which helped
return still profitable years for the London Branch whilst reducing Risks.

 Working from the “Machine Room”, where dealing with customer remittances, queries and account balancing,
through to dealing with customers directly on the Banking Cashiers Counter where I took charge of deposits,
withdrawals, clearing of cheques and balancing the tills.
 Ensured accurate calculations were carried out, encouraging face to face customer relations and promoting the
Bank’s marketing strategy.

Supporting and spending time with family and friends. I have three elder children which keeps me busy and I enjoy

two White Collar Boxing bouts, Sky dived, climbed a mountain or two and continuously attend the gym. I have a keen
interest in health and fitness using resistance and cardiovascular training.
