15. Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He promised
His apostles that He would send the Holy Spirit
to them. The Holy Spirit would be their helper
and comforter.

16. Ascension means "going up".
According to the story told in the Bible,
Jesus ascended (went up) to heaven.
This was seen by His apostles. The
story tells that Jesus' body went to
heaven, and that in heaven He sits at
the right-hand of God the Father

17. The scripture tells us about the coming of
the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles. The
Apostles need the Holy Spirit to remain as
Jesus’ true friends. Like them, we need the
Holy Spirit to be able to respond to Jesus’
call for friendship.

18. The Holy Spirit was sent by God to
keep us stronger and closer to Jesus,
God the Father and others. The Holy
Spirit enables us to be a good person. It
guides us to live a righteous and
faithful life.

20. The Holy Spirit lives in our heart. He is our friend and our
helper. He helps us to:
✓ know what Jesus wants us to do.
✓ understand things about God and Jesus.
✓ decide to do good things.
✓ be strong and to do what God asks.
✓ know the right way to follow Jesus.
