Coelsanus, founded in 1955, is an italian leading company producing preserved
vegetables in wine vinegar and oil.


Annual Production year 2010:   42 million of glass jars and cans.

Turnover year 2010:      54.040.000 euro

Number of employees :    140

Indoors area :   22.000 square metres

Coelsanus ( the name comes from Latin, taken from the coat of arms of the village of
Sossano near Vicenza and means ‘clear and peaceful sky’) was founded in 1955
and specializes in the production of preserved vegetables.

The quest for innovation, while remaining true to the Italian preserving tradition has
led Coelsanus to develop new ranges with unique organoleptic characteristics.

The pleasure of the taste experience begins with the freshest of vegetables.
That is why every care is taken in the selection of ingredients of the highest quality,
where possible using fresh vegetables in season, carefully selected from a supply
network whose prime concern is quality.

Coelsanus contracts with local producers for preferential supplies of fresh
vegetables, locally produced, using traditional methods. Growers are urged to
maintain strict standards of production with a view to obtaining a high and consistent
quality.

Once the vegetables reach the factory they are subjected to further quality checks to
ensure they meet the required standard and to guarantee product safety and
hygiene. (These checks use the HACCP auto-control system)

All parts of the company are involved in and responsible for their part of the quality
manual which controls both the production and management processes, resulting in
better, safer products and eating pleasure.

Search for quality

We believe that the quality of the ingredients and the way fresh vegetables are
processed are what make the finished product enjoyable and flavoursome. That is
the reason why we go to great lengths to ensure that the vegetables we use are of
the best possible quality and, whenever possible, seasonal.


Certificate of Quality

All our products are subject to strict and constant hygene and quality controls
throughout the whole process ( method HACCP ) . Furthermore Coelsanus is
endeavouring to provide the discerning customers with the absolute guarantee that all
the regulations relating to safety, quality control and hygene have been adhered to.
The quality system complies with ISO 9001 – ed. 2000 and has been certified by the
SGS group (certificate nr. Q.02.230). Production methods applied by Coelsanus
comply also with the requirements of IFS (International Food Standard) certification,
higher level, version 4 and BRC - Global Standard Food , issue 4, Grade A


Our suppliers

The vegetables we use (some of which are traditional of this area) are grown locally,
and we have drawn special contracts with the producers which guarantee tight
production control together with a constant high level of quality of the vegetables.
