3. A Sustainable Mission
Addressing UN Sustainable Development Goals*
It is our
mission
to help
people
share cars
Cars are on average
used less than 1 out of
24 hours
Cars on average drive
with only 1.3 people
inside
The net result is a <1%
resource utilization of
the car
Sharing optimizes the
use of cars allowing
for…
Reduced CO2
emission from car
production
Reduced CO2
emission per
kilometer travelled
* The 3 UN SDGs “11. Sustainable cities and communities,” “12. Responsible consumption” and “13. Climate action” are all addressed by our mission to help
people share cars. Sharing promotes sustainable behavior in cities and has a significant CO2 reduction potential. Transportation represents around 25%
of total CO2 emission in Denmark, assumed similar in all European markets. Car manufacturing represents around 12% and 60% of a car’s total CO2
emission for gasoline and electric cars respectively. Source DK Climate Counsel.

Strengths and Weaknesses in Markets
• First-mover
• Home-grown
• Time for organic growth
• DK-first approach to product
development
• Brand and organization model hard to
replicate in other markets
• Brand history unique
• Product DK-biased
Strengths Weaknesses/mistakes
• Acquisition of existing brand and
traffic
• Home-grown (partly)
• Tried to build full local organization
instead of centralizing all possible tasks
• Hard and in-efficient to replicate
org/skills in local markets
• Depended too much on
local/unpredictable creativity
7. 7
Strengths and Weaknesses in Markets
• First-mover (or first fast-mover)
• One-focus, one product (P2P rental)
• Brand and product platform fully
developed (in DK) and ready to roll
out
• Roll out through controllable (paid)
channels managed centrally
• 100% lean team, working closely with
central marketing and BI
• Tried in the past to grow ridesharing,
never worked
• Hoped for organic growth
• Waited for too long to give full focus
to one product and country
Strengths Weaknesses/mistakes
• Use SE model for roll out
• Start with Finnish team member in
Cph before opening local office
• We will see…
8. 8
Strengths and Weaknesses in Markets
• Too few… • Entered large market hoping for organic growth. Based on ES
ridesharing experience
• Established local office without clear roll-out model (because
started with ridesharing, P2P rental is now different for us)
• Needed much larger budgets to really succeed in a large market
• Market is crowed by local players, making it hard even to a
regional no. 1 or 2
• Waited too long to shut down
Strengths Weaknesses/mistakes
• Too few… • Competing in a small market with a popular local P2P rental
player. Rather go for acquisition then
• We grew, but never so much that becoming no. 1 was realistic
• Waited too long to shut down
