SimSkin created a Nurse Training Pad in collaboration with Lori Lioce to provide a realistic model for nursing students to practice surgical skills like suturing and incision and drainage procedures. The pad contains realistic skin, two abscesses, and two tendons to allow students to practice multi-layered suturing and tendon involvement. Nita Gaddipati, Chief Operating Officer of SimSkin, oversaw the project and believes the training pad provides great educational value for simulation training.

My name is Nita Gaddipati and I am the Chief Operating Officer at SimSkin. Our
company specializes in creating realistic surgical training models for educational
purposes. We have had the privilege of working with Lori Lioce to create a Nurse
Training Pad which encompasses all of the features necessary for nurses to learn and
enhance their surgical skills.
Ms. Lioce informed us which procedures and components were necessary for the model
and worked directly with our Director of Research & Development to see this model
come to fruition. The pad consists of realistic skin, two abscesses, and two tendons. With
these features students can practice multi-layered suturing with tendon involvement and
incision and drainage procedures. This Nurse Training Pad has great educational value
and is a wonderful addition to Simulation Training.
