Dear Sir or Madam,
During the winter/spring of 2016, Lisa Kremer worked as a part-time intern for the communications
team at BASF Crop Protection North America, which is headquartered in the Research Triangle
Park in Durham, NC. During our time with us, Lisa worked in the area of internal communications.
One of our focus areas this year is messaging for employees around sustainability. As part of her
duties, Lisa was asked to research existing communications within the BASF SE group to
determine available communications and depth of knowledge about BASF sustainability practices.
This involved Web searches, meetings with Crop Protection leaders, phone calls with subject
matter experts in other parts of our business and a survey for all employees that would give us a
baseline from which to start planning our message content. Lisa’s other duties included writing
articles for our internal bi-weekly newsletter that is sent to approximately 2,000 employees and
helping with proofreading.
In her work with our team, Lisa demonstrated skills that sometimes take years to develop. She’s
very focused, and time and again demonstrated an aptitude for being detail-oriented. Lisa is also
skilled at analyzing data and demonstrated the ability to clearly disseminate data for others. She’s
also a talented writer.
Our team enjoyed working with Lisa very much and appreciated her professional attitude and
willingness to help out where needed. She is highly capable and already has the core skills
necessary to be an exemplary employee in her chosen career path.
