LDD Advanced Technologies Ltd. is the leading
company in Israel in the provision of professional soil,
groundwater and surface water remediation services.
LDD provides complete turn-key solutions from the
preliminary design via regulatory approval and final
execution. LDD is part of the Neopharm group of
companies and is managed by Dr. Raphi Mandelbaum
who has over 25 years of experience in academic
and applied research in the field of contaminants
remediation.
Since its inception, LDD has been committed to
excellence and to providing professional services
at the highest standard. The company provides
its customers with comprehensive solutions sets,
including professional consultation on a variety of
environmental protection issues, classification and
identification of soil and groundwater contamination
and remediation of contaminated sites using advanced
technologies. LDD is a pioneer in this field in Israel,
and has the most varied experience in this field.
LDD’s professional team consists of staff holding
advanced academic degrees in hydrology,
geology, microbiology, soil and water science, and
environmental engineering. Company staff members
regularly receive customized professional training,
which provides them with both extensive field work
experience and knowledge from the forefront of
research and application world-wide.
No matter what is the contamination problem,
whether it is in the soil or in the water, whether it is
from a point source or a widespread contamination
–Compass LDD will find the most cost-effective
solution, via a host of in house capabilities and well-
trained and experienced personnel. When very large
or complex projects arise, Compass LDD can use its
strong local presence and collaborations with local
parties and trusted business partners with whom we
keep professional and business relationships, which
expand our capacity to execute almost any size of
project.
We use our extended base of expert resources to
respond to our clients' needs, offering solutions to
problems that often look beyond fixing.
Our constant quest for innovation, coupled with
skilled project management, solid environmental
engineering and vast experience from hundreds of
remedial works, is all combined to provide the client
with the best solutions.
4. Compass LDD Total
Risk Management
Over decades of economic development, China’s
industrialization has led to significant impacts on
soil and water bodies. As cities continue to expand
and awareness/concerns about environmental
pollution rises, many industrial facilities along
the edge of or within the city boundaries have
been relocated or closed. This urbanization trend
leaves behind idled and abandoned land that is
contaminated from the former industrial activities
and unregulated discharges. Many water bodies
and rivers were polluted with untreated industrial
waste. At present, when industrial waste disposal
is managed, it opens the opportunity to clean the
lakes and rivers from contaminated sediments.
We are a one stop shop for soil, groundwater
and sludge remediation – We can manage the
site investigation, risk assessment, remedial
investigation, technology selection and risk
reduction. We use our experience to find and
optimize the right solution to each unique situation.
We use one or more technologies as appropriate to
achieve the client's goals in a cost effective manner.
Our team includes multidisciplinary scientists and
engineers who are up-to-date with the most recent
developments in our field of expertise. Operating
our own in-house quality control laboratory allows
us rapid control over our remediation processes.
Some of our large corporate clients repeatedly
return to us to execute remedial works in a myriad
of sites.
5. Central hub for
soil and hazardous
waste treatment
LDD established the first Ex-situ soil remediation
center in Israel in 2001 and operate it ever since.
The Hub is a joint venture between LDD and ESC
a government owned company in partnership. The
Hub is a unique soil treatment facility in the South
of Israel with a full environmental Permit which
enables acceptance and treatment of a wide range
of contamination including hazardous and non-
hazardous wastes. The hub has treated hundreds
of thousands of tons of contaminated soils and
industrial sludge.
The Hub is a secure and fully permitted facility
utilizing LDD's own proprietary remediation
technologies to provide solutions which can enable
material re-use on development projects or use as a
daily landfill cover.
The hub can treat soils biologically in several
methods depending on the nature of the organic
matter and the content of volatile materials. In cases
where the waste emits volatile organic compounds it
is treated under cover and/or in a negative pressure
aerated biopile.
Some materials contaminated with heavy metals
can be treated biologically to change the valence or
via solidification stabilization to improve the safe
recycling of the water.

12. Hazardous Waste
Treatment and Disposal
"Dig and dump" is one of the original forms of
treatment of soils polluted with industrial waste.
This method is still widely applicable to many
sites where pollution is accessible, and time is of
essence. However, dumping without pre-treatment
is not acceptable any more, and modern treatment
technologies were developed to meet current
standards of landfilling. Materials requiring disposal
are mostly soil, rubble and sludge contaminated
with pollutants. Handling of a wide variety of
pollutant mixes and concentrations is part of
the specialist know-how which we can provide.
While keeping high technical and environmental
standards, we are cost aware and thrive to supply
low-cost solutions where possible. LDD operates
our own soil treatment center in Israel. The center
treat and recycle materials from around Israel and
recycles the soil for a beneficial use.
13. Our customers
Our clients range from large chemical factories,
refineries, pipeline companies and land developers
who build on contaminated land. Government
agencies who need to clean rivers and lakes or
small petroleum gas stations owners. We work with
consultants and come together to the best existing
solutions to protect the environment and meet our
client's goals. We offer to our client a "one stop shop"
for site cleanup and restoration.
