5. HI!
Girlies,
The year is 2022 and women have never had as many oppor-
tunities as we do. We’re total girlbosses, “SHE-EOs” and
boss-babes! But it feels like something is off... maybe the fact
that we’re still struggling to get access to safe abortions and
government protection of our right to choose?
And like, how do they expect us to live, laugh, love if we don’t
even have power over our own bodies? As if!
C’mon ladies let’s make *herstory* and get ourselves
some basic rights!
7. Banning abortions
doesn’t stop them, it just
makes them dangerous
Studies show that countries where abortion
is illegal have the same rate of abortions as
those in which it is legal.
Insurance
coverage for
abortion
services is
heavily restrict-
ed in certain
private insur-
ance plans and
public programs
like Medicaid
and Medicare.
IT WAS MADE LEGAL IN THE US IN 1973
AFTER A DECISION BY THE SUPREME COURT
IN THE ROE VS. WADE CASE
About Abortion
$500
YOU CAN HAVE
ONE TOO!
AFTER THE SUPREME’S COURT DECISION TO
OVERTURN ROE VS. WADE IN 2022,
STATES NOW HAVE THE POSSIBILITY TO
EITHER OUTLAW OR LIMIT ACCESS TO SAFE ABORTIONS.
What can YOU
do about it?
TAKE TO THE STREETS, TALK TO YOU REPRESENTA-
TIVES, DONATE TO CHARITIES CHAMPIONING
ABORTION RIGHTS...
TAKE ACTION!!!!
In parts of the
world where
abortion is illegal,
botched abortions
still cause about 8
to 11 percent of all
maternal deaths,
or about 30,000
deaths each year.
9. ABOUT
Easy Fix is a conversation starter
around the issue of clandestine
abortions and the risks attached to
them. Irreverent, saccharine and
ridiculous: a serious topic discussed in
the patronizing way advertising and
the media refers to women.
By means of three imaginary products,
Easy Fix brings to light how the lack of
government and legislative protection
of women everywhere is causing
completely preventable deaths for
those who want to excersive their
right to chose over their bodies and
their lives.
After the overturning of Roe vs. Wade
by the US Supreme Court in 2022, it
seems like the never-ending topic of
women’s rights is back on the table.
This is our take on it.
10. “SCRAP IT” WIRE HANGER
The one and only *iconic* wire
hanger, a true symbol of
clandestine abortions.
Malleable and versatile, the
“Scrap It” Wire Hanger can be
usedboth for your clothes and
your uterus!
“BEAT IT” BASEBALL BAT
Nothing like a little brute
force to really get things
going. Super simple and can
also double as a Christmas
present for your Baby Daddy!
IMPORTANT: This one might
need a little help from a
friend, not included with the
product.
“BREW IT” HERBAL T E A
Did you know certain plants
have been used as an
abortion method for millenia?
Seriously, we have recipies
from Roman times! We can’t
promise our herbal tea will be
delicious, but it will be
effective (maybe, not always).
14. OUR LOGO
(Mastering the Recipe)
Ingredients Our logo includes:
- The figure of a hanger (the most recognizable
symbol of self-inflicted abortions).
- Our fabulous name, a stark contrast from the
actual hell we put women through when they
don’t have a safe option.
- A little sparkle, for good measure.
Preparation
SMELLS LIKE THERE’S
SOMETHING ELSE IN THE OVEN!
These are ultrasounds from early stages of pregnancy
(from week 5 to 12, which is when 9 out of 10 abortions
take place). Only at the end of this period (around week
10) do we begin to talk about a “fetus”. Before that, the
correct term is “embryo”. By the end of this period, the
fetus is approximatedly 5.4 cm long. About the size of a
lime. It looks nothing like the cute baby you would take
home from the hospital.
Now is it just us or is it crazy that it has
more rights than its human incubator?
23. ENOUGH WITH
THE CHIT-CHAT
Is it just us or under the excuse of “empowering” women we’ve
done a LOT of damage in the way we talk about them in social
media, advertising and everything else? She’s not a “SHE-E-O”
she’s the CEO of a Furtune 500 company. She’s not a “boss-babe”,
she’s the owner of a succesfull business. She’s not a “girlboss”,
she’s a woman in control of her life.
By adopting this sexist, patronizing and ridiculous tone of voice
that’s reminiscent of those 50’s ads we all love to hate, we’re
hoping to bring attention to how language plays an essential part
in how we understand women’s roles in our modern societies.
Repeat after us, please:
Success does not belong to men.
So stop trying to make it *girly*
PERIODT.
