To Whom It May Concern:
Lewis Der Sarkissian has asked that I write him a letter of recommendation, and I am
exceptionally pleased to do so. Lewis was my student during the Fall of 2014 in the Auditing course I
teach at Boston University where I am a Lecturer, in addition to being Chairman of the Mathematics
Department at The Bromfield School. Lewis performed exceptionally well in the BU Auditing course
(AC 565), earning a grade of A and ranking at the top of the 36 students who took my course. Lewis is an
amazing young man who impressed me as soon as I met him. He is incredibly bright, highly motivated,
and extremely conscientious with regard to his studies, having a genuine love for learning. Lewis
unquestionably ranks as one of the top five students I have ever been privileged to teach in my twelve
years of teaching at Boston University and in my entire twenty-six year career as an educator.
Lewis was able to understand even the most difficult concepts of Accounting and Auditing with
incredible ease, and his work was always meticulously prepared and clearly indicative of the incredible
time and energy he puts into his studies. Lewis constantly asked deep and insightful questions during
class, questions that helped me to teach more effectively. Lewis also made connections between concepts
that many students missed, and excelled at analytical reasoning. He was also highly creative and original,
argued points in the class extremely cogently, and worked well both independently and with his peers in
the class. As a student studying abroad from Australia, he could not have represented his country more
positively. Lewis has a gregarious and engaging personality and a wonderful sense of humor that made
him incredibly well liked by both his fellow classmates and professors.
Lewis is one of the kindest and most capable and insightful young men I have ever met. He is
incredibly intuitive, highly intelligent, and extremely sincere. He is a natural problem solver and is one of
the most competent, motivated, industrious, organized and perseverant people I know. He is also quite
reflective and highly responsive to constructive criticism. He is also exceptionally creative and articulate
and has tremendous verbal and interpersonal communication skills and is an excellent writer.
In conclusion, I recommend Lewis Der Sarkissian in the strongest terms possible. He is an
incredibly hard worker with strong business, mathematical and communication skills, a gifted, brilliant
and dedicated student, a creative and motivated self-starter, and a kind and compassionate person who is
wise beyond his years. Lewis is a unique individual who truly makes the world a better place simply
because of his presence, and I recommend him to you without hesitation.
Sincerely,
THE BROMFIELD SCHOOL
