Dear Sir or Madam:
I am writing on behalf of Alexander Veremeyenko and his candidacy for university
entrance. I have known Mr. Veremeyenko since 2011 as his English teacher and MUN
Coordinator. During this period of maturity, Mr. Veremeyenko demonstrated innate
academic ability and the creative instinct necessary to be an innovator in society. He will
be an invaluable addition to the community he chooses to join.
Mr. Veremeyenko was unique as a high school student due his honesty, intuition and
sensitivity to the human condition. In our years together in and outside the classroom, he
demonstrated outward signs of growth and development. He did not conform to artificial
rules of decorum, but rather allowed his emotions to inform his behavior and intellect.
This character meant that he did not set false limits on himself nor others. He could be a
thorn in the side of peers and even mentors, but the kind of thorn attached to the stem of a
rose—reaching towards more truth and understanding.
Mr. Veremeyenko’s skills as a leader and communicator were widely appreciated outside
of the classroom. I served as his supervisor for two MUN trips in which his openness
allowed him to forge bonds with students of all backgrounds. Regarding his academics,
he read literary works with a keen interest in their ethical and aesthetic implications. He
was not the type of student motivated by external assessment. Rather, he needed to be
moved by something internally, and then he could produce very layered response work.
It is without reservation that I recommend Mr. Veremeyenko for entrance to your school.
He has talents that are waiting to emerge fully.
Sincerely yours,
