2. My main pastime is Yachting, I own a ‘Phantom’ sailing Dinghy and a share in an
offshore yacht. I have sailed as a skipper for 25 years and teach Navigation, vhf
Radio and Sea Survival to fellow yachtsman. I recently gained my private pilots
licence and am continuing with advanced instrument training.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Dec.1992-Present Rockwell Automation, Senior Lecturer Accountable to the U.K. Training
Manager. Responsible for Customer liaison, from initial enquiry, through
to course delivery. I am involved in development work for courses, to
support new product launches and play an active role in the logistics and
planning of courses within the department. I often give courses to project
engineers who are about to undertake major projects, which are going to
utilize Rockwell Automation products.
I have worked for a wide variety of blue chip companies within the U.K.
covering a number of market sectors (Nuclear, Power, Food, Automotive,
Aerospace, Water, Oil).
Specialist in the following product area’s:-
Visual Basic, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, MES and Simulation products,
SLC500, PLC5, SQL , Panelview, RSViewSE, Contrologix, DCP
Sept.1987-Dec 92 Brintons Carpets, Software Development Engineer. Accountable to the
Chief Design Engineer. Two people reporting.
Responsibility for all in house written software, specification of bought in
systems.Software development included writing software in Qbasic, Assembler
and ‘C’.Instillation of several major computer networks. The largest of these,
involving the complete refurbishment and integration of the design studio to the
production platform.
The largest project I undertook in this role saved the company an average of
Four percent in wastage and contributed to a reduction in lead times of up to one
third enabling the company, to tender for and successfully gain, contracts that they
would not have previously obtained. My final project consisted of a feasibility study
and computer simulation for a proposed Computer Controlled Dye House / Warehouse
facility. ( total project cost £20 M ).
Sept.1983-July87 Entered full time education. Coventry University as a mature student (age 26)
Sept.1981-Sept.83 Upright Industries. (General Engineering), Production Engineer.
Accountable to the Managing Director Responsible for buying, production planning
and customer liaison. The company decided to purchase a computer system to perform
stores inventory and control. This involved specifying and implementing a bespoke
package. Subsequently I assumed responsibility for the evaluation and purchase of all
computer software for the company.

Jan 2001-April.02 Rockwell Automation, Systems Analyst / Lecturer I have been on secondment to an implementation
team responsible for rolling out PeopleSoft ERP system within Rockwell automation. Roll out of
project included travel to 10 European countries and the Middle East.
