Editor's Notes
I gained experience of basic metal working techniques as an engineering assistant in Beamish & Crawford's Brewery. I was responsible for the safety of fitters and electricians if they were up ladders or working in confined spaces.
The latter two are items that I gained experience of whilst attending Cork Institute of Technology (CIT)
I sent CV’S to the four companies mentioned between January and June last yearand only got an interview with the Malting Company of Ireland. Also got a letter of acknowledgment form DD Williamson Ingredients. These are companies in the book entitled “Cork Food Finder” that I sent CV’s to.
I also sent CV’s to companies in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, mechanical and engineering contractors and companies that provide calibration services.
I will be targeting companies in “Cork Food Finder” together with employers in the medical device, pharmaceutical and engineering sectors as soon as I have completed the course. I will be circulating my CV by e-mail and tailoring it to suit particular employers. This will save me from wasting money on transport and printing.
