- Industry validation - Ensure what plan to deliver is validated by industry Important pathway - Secondary school pathways for careers in our industries are very important Insider knowledge - Completing these qualifications in school gives student an understanding of what to expect Meaningful experience – students need to have meaningful work placements to develop their skills Assessment – Requirement on assessors to have industry experience in the last 2-3 years to ensure students meeting industry standards Outcomes – Industry sometimes feel that if students undertake the qualification via a school based VET program they won’t get the same outcomes as if they undertook the training through TAFE and in the workplace. Industry expecting that students completing through school to same level as if in a TAFE environment. Need to provide robust training and work placements to ensure students come out with the skills needed.
