3. DESCRIPTION
This project is a muti-use building serving both New York University and private
residents. The first floor includes a welcome desk and conference room for use
by the university as well as rear access to a courtyard behind the building.
Floor two includes two private offices and a double height open break room with
a metal mesh floor. Floor three houses a bathroom, multipurpose room, private
office, and balcony overlooking the break room. Floors four and five are a pri-
vate residence. The roof can only be accessed by the main stairwell.

5. DESCRIPTION
The Visitor’s Center will act as
a downtown presence for the
Virginia Tech Campus. The fa-
cade is inspired by the changing
heights, depths and textures of
the brick facades the currently
inhabit downtown Blacskburg. In-
terior space was then organized
around these surface changes.
