Medical and healthcare apps are the 3rd fastest growing app category for both iPhone and Android phones, and there are currently more than 10,000 of these apps available today. Here's a list of some of what you can expect to see your physician using around the office.

With CliniCam, a physician can take a picture of a patient’s
condition, or injury and upload those images straight to that
patient’s electronic medical record. Some reviews of the
apps said this could tamper with privacy laws, but the
pictures don’t get stored and saved to the doctor’s
phone, therefor insuring the individual’s complete privacy.

3. Doximity
The Doximity app is basically a professional networking system
for physicians and healthcare professionals. It includes a
widespread medical directory, physician-optimized
profiles, and you can send, receive and electronically sign
faxes directly from the app.

4. iScrub
iScrub is an interesting app that is essentially used to
display records of how well a hospital staff is washing
their hands. Cleanliness is extremely important, and this
app helps to prevent infections of any sort.

5. ResolutionMD
Many clinics already use some kind of tablet such as the iPad
for tasks around the office. With the ResolutionMD
app, doctors are able to view X-ray images right on their
smartphones or tablets for easier viewing between the
physician and patient.

6. Epocrates
The Epocrates app has been said to be the electronic version of
the Physician’s Desk Reference. It offers physicians primary
information about certain drugs, as well as warnings about
harmful combinations of medications, and proper dosages for
adults or kids.

7. Leading Reach
With the Leading Reach app, physicians and office staff can deliver
helpful pre-appointment information to the patient, automatically
notify the referred-to doctor, and generate a record of that referral
in one simple step. The app does tasks such as: email appointment
reminders and driving directions, send critical educational
information to a patient, and enable social media interaction. It
also simplifies the entire referral process and reduces the amount of
referral leaks that often happen.
