Lesson overview or summary: In this lesson the teacher will use the story “Drippy the
Raindrop” to introduce students to the water cycle. The teacher will facilitate the conversation by
prompting students to pay attention to the details of the story and the journey Drippy takes.
Together, we will create a poster where we will map out the places Drippy went to. The lesson
will conclude with the students learning a song which includes the stages of the cycle.
Goal: For students to understand how the water cycle works.
Focus: To learn the stages of the cycle.
Objective:Students follow Drippy’s journey as he goes through each stage of the water cycle.

understanding.
