Best Practice Example
Title:
TMon – temperature monitoring: device to document the wearing time (discipline) of
dental braces
Partners:
Handelsagentur Ing. Gerhard Gschladt, Ziehesberger Elektronik, M&W Zahntechnik GmbH
Topic:
The aim of the project was to develop the first fully electronic system which monitores the
wearing time of removable dental braces. The advantages are that these monitoring
records enable the review of the patient´s wearing-discipline as well as the qualitative
evaluation of the therapeutic appliance and the dentist. This system serves as a protection
of both, patients and doctors.
Results:
Development of a prototype for the microchip which is integrated in the braces to
periodically measure the temperature.

“European”: Minimum 4 clusters from 3 CIP Countries
“Strategic”: develop and implement a joint strategy promoting cross sectoral
cooperation and facilitating SME internationalisation in new “rising star” areas, notably in
fields that also contribute to societal challenges such as global warming and better
resource efficiency
“Cluster”
“Partnerships”: partnership members shall aim at developing a long term agenda for
cooperation across sectoral boundaries and with other partners from CIP participating
countries to target key markets in third countries
