E-mail Marketing Checklist 
• Always double obtain the database. 
• Always give the option “unsubscribe” to your 
users. 
• Never send the mails to e-mail ids which 
bounced back. 
• Keep updating your contact list regularly. 
• Don’t use purchased database. 
• Seek permission from your users if they want 
to receive mails regularly or about any specific 
product or service only.

• Ask relevant attributes of your users. 
• Keep the registration form simple, easy to 
understand and fill. 
• Don’t ask a lot of information at the first go.
How mails should be written 
• Make it personalized as much as possible. 
• Send them mails based on location, gender 
and their preference, based on your product 
or service. 
• Avoid mass mails which are product or service 
specific.
Project the Right image 
• Your mail reflects your Brand, re-read your 
mail as a user before sending. 
• Send relevant mails only to avoid getting 
spammed. 
• Have a relevant and short Subject line. 
• Include postal address or Customer Service 
number in your mails which are valid and in 
use. 
• Give links to your Social Media pages.
Customer Relationship 
• Send a Thank You mail after the transaction. 
• If there is no action from the customer, send a 
reminder mail. 
• Keep them updated about new products or 
services based on their preferences. 
• Send personalized offers on their birthday or 
special occasions. 
• Send a feedback mail.
