1. PRIME Fitness Circuit Training
Planks and bridges during the circuit training workout.
In December we began implementing circuit training here two days per
month. Our next step is to decrease rest time between exercises to
increase the benefits of the circuit now that we have a good group of faithful
participants. Although I did not pick a “member of the month” this time
around, pictured above you will see Gene Vaillancourt, Gerry Ouellette,
John Dubois and Betty Maloney participating in the March circuit. Way to
go everyone!
Happy Exercising,
Laurie

Fitness Tip
Having trouble losing
weight or stuck at a
plateau? Incorporate
HIIT (high intensity
interval training) into
your workout. This
workout involves a
HARD SHORT
workout followed by a
recovery period, and
then repeating the
work and rest periods.
You can potentially
burn an hour’s worth of
calories in only 20
minutes and elevate
your metabolism to
continue to burn
calories even after
your workout is done.
If you might be
interested in this type
of workout talk to a
trainer today to get
started.

Circuit training is a
combination of high
repetitions, low
resistance (weights),
and short rest
intervals to improve
muscle tone while
also improving
cardiovascular
fitness. It involves
working all major
muscle groups and
alternating between
the different areas to
allow each muscle to
recover while forcing
your heart to work
harder.
