As the title suggests, I took a lot, if not all, of my inspiration from Japan for this collection. The concept behind it is to combine ‘old Japan’ and ‘new Japan’ in one children’s wear collection. Despite the fact that this collection was designed for both boys and girls, the collection is not quite unisex, because the fit for boys and girls is slightly different. However, some elements of each outfit can be interchanged between sexes. The reason elements of outfits can be swapped, is that all outfits have a puzzle element to them by means of zippers and ‘Tetris puzzle’ shaped details. The zippers are completely divisible, making it possible for a child to take away and replace, for example, the bottom part of a t-shirt.
