A coach, aka motor coach, is a type of vehicle used for conveying passengers on longer-distance intercity bus service between cities or even
between countries. Coaches often have a luggage hold that is separate from the passenger cabin and are normally equipped with facilities
required for longer trips, including comfortable seats and sometimes a toilet.

Shuttle Buses/Minibuses

A shuttle bus or minibus is a passenger carrying motor vehicle that is designed to carry more people than a multi-purpose vehicle or mini-
van, but fewer people than a full-size bus. Minibuses have a seating capacity of between 8 and 33 seats. Larger minibuses may be called
midibuses. Minibuses are typically front-engine step-entrance vehicles, although low floor minibuses do exist. Minibuses are used for a vari-
ety of reasons. In a public transport role, they can be used as fixed route transit buses, airport buses, flexible demand responsive transport
vehicles, share taxis or large taxicabs.
Individual seating, not as luxurious as coach bus seating but more comfortable than transit seating.
Single door entrance with steps.
On-board rest rooms are typically not included.
Some minibuses may have entertainment such as television sets (more common in recreational buses).
Possibly including a wheelchair lift for access.

Splitter/Sprinter Buses

Splitter buses (also known as splitter vans, splitter buses, sprinter vans or sprinter buses) are specially converted vehicles commonly used
by bands to travel on tour or transporting employees. Their principal defining feature is a bulkhead placed halfway down the vehicle, in front
of which are situated seats for carrying passengers and behind which is an area for storing equipment. Splitter buses tend to be built on
normal van chassis and the most common base vehicle used is the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
A seating area in the front of the vehicle.
A storage area at the rear of the vehicle, separated from the seating area by a fixed bulkhead.
Often the passenger area in the vehicle resembles the interior of a minibus.
More expensive splitters commonly come with entertainment packages in the passenger area that may
include DVD players, games consoles, CD stereos, MP3 Player docks, and mobile internet access.

School Buses

A school bus is a type of bus specifically designed, manufactured and used for student transport, carrying students to and from school and
school events. Federal safety standards in the United States and Canada require school buses to be painted school bus yellow and to be
equipped with specific warning and safety devices.
Safety Devices such as the school bus crossing arm and retractable stops signs. To inhibit pedestrians from walking close
enough to the front of the bus that the hood obscures them from the driver's view, crossing arms were added.
Emergency exits – All school buses are required to have 1 additional exit besides the main entry door. This could include
emergency window exits, side door exits, rear door exits or roof exits.
Video surveillance - School buses were equipped with VHS recording devices but are now being replaced by digital recording
devices with multiple cameras throughout the bus.
Lap seat belts are most commonly found in school buses. Some newer buses may have lap/shoulder seatbelts.
Compartmentalization: The premise behind compartmentalization is that improved seat design with high-back padded seats
spaced close together would better contain passengers in the event of a crash.
