Communications Coordinator and Marketing Liaison
• Developed and produced all the promotion for Employee Education and
Development’s seven career training programs, including marketing plans,
identity campaigns, ads, brochures, and more.
• Used market surveys and created a web-based database to collect statistics
on the largest campaigns.
• Promoted, wrote content for, and taught numerous employee enrichment
classes (called Skill Builder classes; example: resume-writing skills).
• Taught all the writing and communications classes that I developed.
• Achieved 50% to 300% growth in class enrollments in three years from my
internal and external promotions of the department’s training programs.
• Coordinated major event planning for more than 200 people.
• Wrote, designed, and coordinated all photo shoots for a corporate newsletter
dedicated to educational opportunities within Clarian.

Freelance Writer and Designer
• Researched, developed, wrote, designed, and produced award-winning print
materials: catalogues, order forms, stationery, brochures, identity campaigns,
case books, capabilities booklets, annual reports, and more.
• Coauthored and edited three books on healthcare trends and job searches.
• Wrote self-paced cross-training modules for Methodist Hospital (which they
marketed nationally as ADD-A COMP®).
Additional experience 1974 – 1993
• Provided sales support and technical support for a start-up company that
developed software for custom job shops. Wrote and produced their first
corporate newsletter and first comprehensive user manual. Developed their
first series of revenue-generating training seminars, which grew to be a
customer “university.”
• Managed an inside sales force for a medical sales company (4 years), where
I developed training materials for field reps and inside sales reps. Reagent
sales increased >100% as a result.
• Performed clinical laboratory scientist duties in several hospitals (10 yrs); also
developed/taught chemistry lectures, blood bank basics, phlebotomy.
