Work Esperience:
Beginning June 1987 till the February 25th 1990 employed as agricultural employee (including service
technician) attending:
Loonbedrijf Gebroeders Speelman (farm and contracting business)
Alteveersterweg 29
9661 TB Alteveer (Gn)
Activities: plowing, cultivating, sawing, planting, harvesting, bailing, fertilizing, spraying.
Besides the agrarian supporting in the service for all of the machine park and real estate property
belonging to the several farms. Involved in machine construction.
Living on a farm from early childhood and granddad owning cattle till I was almost 9 I have seen
agriculture and stockbreeding becoming more and more mechanized. Besides own property there
was a lot of contract based work, small farmers and public works for local government.
Independence a pré and adapted to perform from a young age; a privilege to do something after
schooltime. Whether helping someone or completely free and independent, always finding
opportunity to do something. A spirit of inventiveness under all circumstances. A job to do
meeting the needs and above.
Beginning April 2nd 1991 till April 2nd 1995 in service of the Kingdom and its Allies joining The Royal
Dutch Navy, stationed as Sailor 1st
class in the Electro Technical Service.
Activities: maintenance of a diversity in electro technical equipment, trouble-shooting in
installations like marine propulsion (diesel-electric), power-supplies and distribution (440, 220,
115 and 24 Volt), air-compressors, household appliances and equipment, kitchen/catering
equipment, heating and ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration.
Subsequently monitoring, surveillance, supervision and responsibility for safety and continuation
of the processes on board of a vessel out of a central control room.
- Basic training and experience with diesel technology and marine gas turbines.
- A few months experience as stock manager: order processing and tracking, supply management
and reorganization. Management and maintenance of tools and toolkits.
- Often independant. Enjoyed the confidence my superiors gave notice of. Gifted with a wide
notion of things to be done and exceeding the requirements.
- During the basic military training exercised with the use of compressed air (breathing
apparatus), fire-prevention and fire-fighting, damage control and other safety services.
On top, and not officially part of the training, yet rather through circumstances: During the
primary military and navy training I had the opportunity to apply my skills developed in the army.
During a few trainings we were surprised because of the whether which influenced the fitness and
mood of the team. Unforeseen circumstances moved our trainer to decide to give me the lead in
the crisis that we suffered. He lacked the skill and had opportunity to learn. Besides the
geological and climatological circumstances we had the ‘handicap’ (which I will see and use as
the advantage) of diversity in education, age, physical and mental strengths, believes, social and
civic skills, sexes and sexual orientation. It’s crucial to notice the distinctions and to transform
this into growth and victory for the whole of the team and the individual.
*through legislation we had to face the fact that some were selected without being up and ready
yet for the expected task Be always ready and peddle with what is; overcome the trials and
tribulations!
