Lacey spent 5 part days accumulating to 20 hours starting on the 17th
August 2015 at our Warren and Mahoney office in
Christchurch to gain some work experience in her desired field.
We found Lacey to be a bright and enthusiastic individual who is passionate towards the design industry. Showing a
keen interest in the office environment Lacey was inquisitive to the surroundings and gained insight by asking questions
and observing. During her time with us she helped with several projects and office duties, these included:
Updating a furniture schedule for the FF+E for a small office project and completing two finishes boards for large
commercial projects. This required a level of understanding of the selected product, translating the information correctly
and producing the relevant documentation which aligns with our internal standards and expectations. It also involved
arranging a compositional layout in InDesign as the template for the finishes board, printing, layout and compiling the
samples for presentation.
During Lacey’s time with us she also assisted in sorting through our Library and re-arranging items in order in
preparation for our office move. This allowed Lacey to become familiar with industry products and how they are utilised
within a working office environment.
In the short time Lacey was part of the office, she demonstrated the ability to interpret instructions cohesively and
quickly, with a willingness to learn. There was evidence of a team work ethic, as she would happily share ideas and
suggestions.
