The Elite Lifestyle Fitness & Health Studio aims to provide affordable gym services and classes. It will offer a range of classes like yoga, spinning, Pilates, barre, bootcamp, Zumba, and TRX, as well as childcare. The startup expenses are estimated at $163,599.50. Revenue will come from membership dues. Classes will be taught by cross-trained instructors. Safety and risk management plans are in place. The grand opening is planned for after completing six steps involving permitting, hiring, scheduling, and setting up equipment and childcare.
2. PROJECT OVERVIEW
The purpose of this project is to build and provide quality gym services that offer a range of classes at
an affordable price. Many competitive gyms that offer low membership monthly dues do not offer very
much outside of the regular weightlifting and cardio machines. Gyms that offer specialized classes are
costing way over $100 a month in membership dues. As times are changing and more people are
becoming considered with their health, they should be able to do fitness activities without breaking
the bank to do so.
3. PROJECT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
When you think of an “Elite Lifestyle” you think of one that is top tier and has the greatest potential, growth, and reward.
Here at “The Elite” we want to provide top tier health and fitness services at a price that will not cut into your monthly
expenses/savings. Over the next 4 months we plan to be opening our fitness studio that will be home to a barre studio,
spin studio, pilates, bootcamp, yoga and so much more! We know that competing with other gyms it might be a hassle
trying to get our name out there, but we want to give the best bang or our buck. Plus, we will be offering a fulltime
childcare on site while the parents are working to an elite lifestyle. We will target women age of 25-50. We know that is
the age where most women are starting to transition into motherhood and want to get back into shape but do not want
to leave their children behind. One should not have to pick between being a great mom and keeping a healthy physique
while at. We know that keeping our prices at an affordable price will have some challenges, but we plan to have
fundraisers to bring in extra money, as well as keep our staff small, makes for a great personable experience. No task is
too hard when the meaning behind it is to give back and cater to the ones who truly deserve it. Come join us at The Elite!

9. Risk Management Plan:
The Locker Room: One of the most common issues involving locker rooms is insufficient supervision. No matter how great your gym members are, it only takes one bad apple to assault someone or cause some sort of damage or disruption. Make sure a staff member is present or conducts a security check at regular
intervals.
Shower Facilities: Where there is water, there is always the risk of a slip and fall injury, and gym members must assume that risk. If it is exacerbated by the presence of standing water or soap, however, that’s another story. Ensure adequate drainage of all shower areas, including walkways between showers and other
facilities. Have staff keep an eye out for soap spillage or other liquids which might make walkways slippery.
Weights: Injuries caused by weight lifters failing to use a spotter are a major cause for concern. Make sure instructions on proper lifting techniques and warning signs requiring a spotter for certain types of lifts are clearly posted near the free weights.
Machines/Equipment: Have all of your machines inspected regularly for loose or frayed cables and any other damage or impending failures. Make sure your staff is well trained on how to decommission machines that are not in perfect working order so that a gym member does not inadvertently attempt to use it. Make
sure treadmills are strategically placed to reduce the possibility of a gym member stumbling and being thrown into a wall (it’s happened). If you cannot feasibly reposition a treadmill, at least put some padding on the wall behind it. In addition, we will make sure the proper instructions on how to use the equipment will
always be posted and advocate for members to ask for help if they are unsure of how the machines work
Legal Protection: Accidents happen. Unfortunately, in the fitness industry, lawsuits happen as well. And it takes only one small incident to put you out of business. Due to low or no maintenance on the equipment injuries to member which can lead them to suing us. If an incident does occur, hold a staff debriefing session
immediately afterward in order to protect yourself and your business. Allow staff members to share their initial reactions, vent their fears or frustrations, and review the facts. The session typically should be held within 1–4 hours after the conclusion of the critical incident. This meeting is an opportunity to examine and
document the facts, to discuss what staff saw and to ensure you have all the information you need for the incident report: date, time, location, who provided care and any other crucial details. Good documentation of this information will prove critical in the event of litigation. Make sure that all employees are CPR and first-
aid certified and, more important, that they keep these certifications up-to-date. To enforce this, require staff to provide documentation each time they complete a CPR or first-aid course. Ensure that all staff have access to a phone list with relevant numbers for local emergency personnel, medical facilities and staff
supervisors.
Kids PlayRoom: Since we are offering a play-room for the kids we have to make sure that we always have proper precaution in place because kids can always slip away for a split second and be in danger. Having our play-room staff be certified and/or in school for early education ensures that we have the proper staff to
keep up with the active movement of the children. We will keep sharp objects or any chemicals out of their reach to avoid serious injuries that could result in us losing our fitness studio. However, we will make the parents sign a waiver stating that we will try our very best to keep an out on the kids but we are not
responsible for injuries that we spoke to the child prior to stop doing. We understand accidents happen but some accidents can be avoided.

Six Grand Opening
12. Project Completion Approach
Working with my team members has proven to be ineffective. I had to work with our
prior discussed project work and complete the project and presentation. I tried on
numerous occasions to work with the members of my group and was unable to reach
a resolution.
I would create work for our project and add to our group document and other
members would work separately and complete their own documents therefore I had
to work on my own.
13. Lessons learned
Communication is crucial in order for project to be successful. Team effort is needed.
All members of the team should work together oppose to apart to reach the common
goal. My team members decided to work separately and failed at communicating.
Apply better communication skills and project planning to my future project
management efforts. Excellent planning would have better this project effort as a
team.
