1. Dear
Internship
Coordinator(s):
I
am
delighted
to
write
a
letter
of
recommendation
for
Kymberly
Ludwig.
I
serve
as
the
Director
of
Multicultural
Student
Services
at
UW-‐Stout
and
met
Kym
upon
my
arrival
two
and
a
half
years
ago.
Kym
immediately
demonstrated
exemplary
leadership
skills.
During
her
time
at
UW-‐Stout
she
had
many
academic,
community
and
work
responsibilities,
and
consistently
demonstrated
initiative,
excellent
organizational
skills,
valuable
communication
skills,
and
a
work
ethic
I
wish
more
students
exhibited.
She
has
thrived
in
a
rigorous
Applied
Science
(Pre
Pharmacy)
program
and
I
have
no
doubt
she
will
achieve
her
goal
of
earning
her
PharmD
and
becoming
a
Pharmacist.
Kym
works
tirelessly
and
prioritizes
academic
responsibilities
appropriately
while
balancing
many
student
leadership
and
employment
demands.
Kym
maintained
a
work-‐study
Student
Advisor
position
in
the
Multicultural
Student
Services
where
I
served
as
her
supervisor.
She
is
reliable,
accomplished
tasks
efficiently
with
high
standards
and
was
always
eager
to
learn
and
asked
for
additional
responsibilities.
In
fact,
Kym
helped
coordinate
two
“Native
Pride
at
UW
Stout”
events
to
encourage
high
school
students
to
attend
college.
Kym
was
not
only
committed
to
her
own
development,
but
served
as
a
positive
role
model
making
a
difference
in
other
young
students’
lives
too.
Additionally,
Kym
was
instrumental
in
the
organization
of
a
new
Native
American
Student
Organization
at
UW
Stout,
after
years
of
no
American
Indian
student
organization
on
campus.
She
had
consistently
contributed
to
this
organization
that
not
only
serves
as
a
support
network
for
Native
students,
but
also
provides
educational
opportunities
for
the
campus
and
surrounding
community.
Kym,
along
with
other
students,
researched
and
coordinated
valuable
dialogues
with
key
influential
leaders
regarding
the
American
Indian
mascot
issue
and
were
influential
in
cultivating
a
change
in
the
local
K-‐12
school
district
to
eliminate
the
race
based
Indian
logo,
and
made
significant
contributions
to
diminish
Indian
stereotypes
and
elevate
accurate
knowledge
of
American
Indian
people,
history,
and
culture.
I
am
honored
and
proud
to
hear
that
Kym
has
continued
taking
initiative
in
multicultural
affairs
at
UW-‐
Madison
where
she
now
holds
a
leadership
position
with
the
Multicultural
Affairs
Program
in
Pharmacy
and
is
involved
with
the
Native
American
Center
for
Health
Professionals.
I
have
no
doubt
that
Kym
will
make
a
unique
and
great
contribution
to
the
field
of
Pharmacy
through
her
ability
to
effectively
communicate
across
diverse
cultures
and
put
others
first.
She
always
represents
herself
with
a
humble
confidence
and
a
contagious
positive
attitude
that
is
admirable.
Kym
is
focused
on
maximizing
educational
opportunities,
and
this
internship
would
be
an
honorable
investment
in
her
advancement
to
serve
as
a
future
health
care
provider.
If
you
have
any
questions
regarding
Kym
please
do
not
hesitate
to
contact
me.
Respectfully,
Barb
