have some stretch.

The Hybrid is different. It was originally called the “Bali Baby
Stretch,” but educators referred to it as a “hybrid” because it was so
different from other stretchy wraps on the market.
 Lightweight and cooler than most other stretchy wraps
 Offers the support of a woven with the comfort of a stretch
 Tapered ends offer a very small knot
 Can be comfortably and safely used on the back or with heavy
toddlers due to its specialized design
Hybrid wraps are more expensive in large part because they are wider
than other stretchy wraps on the market – 30” wide where others are
about 20”. This means we can get only two carriers out of the fabric
width – we choose not to cut costs here because the extra width is a
major part of the functionality of our carriers. Customers are paying
more for a truly artisan baby wrap that will comfortably carry their child
for many years rather than 6 months.

Somewhere in the last five years, a myth has spread that
the pocket cross carry is the “stretchy wrap carry.” I’d like
to dispel that myth!
You or anyone can certainly USE the pocket cross carry with
the Hybrid or any other stretchy wrap – but almost universally,
when a parent is frustrated with their stretchy wrap, teaching
them the front wrap cross carry leaves them very happy!
We teach the front wrap cross carry as the default for all of our
baby wraps. Perfect fit, every time!

One thing to know about the Hybrid:
Because it stretches ACROSS the wrap, rail to rail, but NOT from tail to
tail, larger children will “settle in” to the wrap after a few minutes.
With older children, many people like to tighten or “snug up” the
wrap after 15-20 minutes. This can be done without unwrapping by
simply pulling the cross passes and walking the slack out of the wrap.
However, once you’ve done that adjustment, the wrap should not
require further adjusting beyond what you would expect from any
woven baby wrap.
Also, because of this unique feature, the “jump and snug” technique
is particularly important with the Hybrid when carrying older
children. This helps settle the child completely into the wrap right away,
and will reduce or possibly eliminate the need for the second
adjustment.
