PROJECTS:
1)STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF AVIONICS ASSEMBLY
Structural Analysis includes Frequency analysis, Shock analysis, Random
vibration analysis and Harmonic analysis. The avionics assembly has modeled completely in
the SOLIDWORKS software as per the specifications of the customer. The complete
assembly has supported by hooks. Here the material for the complete assembly is taken as
aluminum whereas for the hook it is taken as steel. Being a larger assembly, there are about
500 constraints used in the ABAQUS to have the connections for each and every part with
the corresponding mating parts.
Based on the requirement, the constraints like tie and couplings were used. Few
parts are modeled with shell feature in the ABAQUS itself in order to reduce the difficulty and
which also results in the less number of mesh elements. Here we used quadrilateral element
for the shells and hexahedral for the solids. In the shock analysis, the input parameters are
in the form of the acceleration pulse of particular 'g' like 10g or 15g with respect to the time
period for example '9 ms'. Here, the Saw Tooth curve is applied.
2)STATIC ANALYSIS OF VACUUM CHAMBER
ABAQUS FEA Software is used for analysis of the vacuum chamber. It consists of
chamber and door. The Model has given in the SOLIDWORKS 3D modeling software. For
the convenience, the vacuum chamber has remodeled in the ABAQUS software in the form
of shell. Quadrilateral mesh element has used. The two components are combined with 'tie'
constraint. An internal pressure has applied within the chamber. Plain carbon steel is the
material used for the complete chamber. A provision has given to the door to visualize the
internal body which is covered by glass. Several iterations were done to achieve the required
factor of safety by performing the manual optimization.
3)STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF ENVIRONMENTAL CHAMBER
Static analysis is carried out using Finite Element Method on the FRP
environmental chamber assembly. Abaqus/CAE a finite element pre-processor is used for
the finite element modeling, Abaqus/Standard a general purpose finite element analysis
software is used for the analysis. The 3D model has given in the SOLIDWORKS and it is
modified according to the requirement.
The geometry is meshed with Linear quadrilateral shell elements. The FRP
environmental chamber was analyzed with three different load cases and these loads were
given as equivalent centrifugal loads.
The aim of the analysis is to check response of chamber for 3 different angular
velocities. This iteration has done without bolts by only coupling the holes with rigid joints to
see the forces coming on each hole when structure is subjected to centrifugal load and to
check the stress distribution on the structure. Centrifugal load was applied at the particular
axis.
3. 4)STATIC ANALYSIS OF CYLINDER TESTING MACHINE
The static analysis is carried out using on the Cylinder testing machine.
Abaqus/CAE a finite element pre-processor is used for the finite element modeling,
Abaqus/Standard a general purpose finite element analysis software is used for the
analysis. The Complete assembly has meshed with Linear quadrilateral shell elements. And
for components hexahedral mesh has used. The cylinder testing machine was analyzed with
two load cases and the loads are one tension and one compression. Coupling constraints
has used in order to join the two components where the nut and bolt joint comes into picture.
Proper loading has considered in order to apply the tension and compressive. Due to high
stresses in the base of the component, some extra ribs has added in order to increase the
stiffness. The complete assembly is safe after the completion of the project.
5) STATIC ANALYSIS OF 6 Tonnes and 11 Tonnes capacity Crane.
The static analysis has performed on both 6 tonnes and 11 tonnes capacity
cranes. Both the cranes consists of different geometry and cross section at each
every component. The cranes has to withstand the capacity of loads with different
conditions. For example, for 1m of expansion of boom the crane has to withstand
1000 kg of load at the hook. In the same manner for 6 tonnes crane, there are
three loading locations and for 11 tonnes capacity crane, there four loading
locations. Tie constraints and couplings were given for appropriate locations. Point
masses and distributed masses were also considered to idealize the model with
respect to the analysis. ABAQUS software has used for the analysis.
6) Structural analysis of Electronics assembly.
The electronics assembly consists of various components. The structural
analysis consists of shock, random vibration analysis. The complete project was
done for four versions. In each version, the few components as well as the designs
were changed. The shock and random vibration curves were under gone to
analysis for three directions(X,Y,Z). All the versions were withstanding to the given
loads and fit for the manufacturing of the components.
7) Random vibration analysis of the Electronic Assembly.
The electronics assembly consists of three components. The complete
assembly was modeled in the Solid Works. All the three components were
imported in the ABAQUS to perform random vibration analysis. All the three
components were kept step by step. The middle component very critical geometry
with many irregular holes and fillets. For the complexity of geometry, the complete
part has meshed with tetrahedral element. The complete assembly was safe after
performing the analysis. The factor of safety was more than 3.
8) Harmonic analysis of Concrete structure.
The structure consists of many beams, steel rods and concrete. The FE Model has
developed with shell, beam and solid elements. Meshing is the critical part in the
analysis. At most care was taken in order to maintain very good mesh. The very
good accuracy of mesh was maintained with the aspect ratio of less than 10. The
structure was completely safe after the analysis.
