Selfless 19
- 1. Selfless by Robert Woeger
The secret to a productive life and to having a healthy Christian walk, is to live your life in a selfless manner.
At the end of your life, you will not be judged for how many things that you have accumulated, but rather for
how much of your self you have yielded and given up. Since you can’t take things with you when you die, it
is best to start disposing of things now while they can still bless others. The sooner you totally yield to Jesus
in every area of your life, realizing that you are nothing and that He is everything, the quicker you’ll be free.
Things tend to attach a person to this world, and prevent them from growing deeper in their relationship with
God. “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the
Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of
life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that
doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” 1 John 2:15-17. Love God and others unconditionally, in all things
giving thanks continually unto God. “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus
concerning you.” “We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;” 1
Thessalonians 5:18,1:2. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them
who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28. God will faithfully complete the work He began.
You must continually give thanks to Him in faith for the successful completion. Faith is evidence of things
not seen. “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it
until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6. All things are possible with God. “...Have faith in God. For
verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into
the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to
pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye
pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have
ought against any: that your Father...which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” Mark 11:22-25.
Jesus Himself gave to you, and to the whole world, the most wonderful sacrifice of His Blood on The Cross,
to save you from the death penalty your sins required. Jesus did not think of his self, but thought of you. This
was the ultimate act of being selfless. You should strive to walk like He walked, being selfless toward others.
When you get the focus off of self, and off of accumulating material things in this world, you can freely give
to other people. Pride desires to take things that belong to others, while love will always give to other people.
Sacrifice is evidence of faith. God chose to believe in you, and sacrifice His Son, even when you, and others,
may have stopped believing in you. Now is the time for you to show His Sacrifice and His Love by your life.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. It is not God’s desire for anyone to perish and suffer destruction.
If you will believe in God, and in His Word, “...all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23.
Do not mock God, but always take Him seriously. “(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)” 2 Corinthians 5:7.
Never take God for granted. Believe, reverence, and thank Him! Do not disbelieve or doubt His Promises.
The world is in chaos and rebellion today, due to selfish people who have departed from God’s Instructions.
You were created to have perpetual intimacy with God. You are to passionately desire His Will, striving after
His Kingdom and His Righteousness. See Matthew 6:33. God’s Desires The Fruit Of The Spirit to manifest
in, and rule, your life, so that you live a selfless life, always placing His Will above your own selfish desires.
“...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance:
against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”
Galatians 5:22-24. Many people who are trying to serve Christ are still tossed around by their mind and lusts.
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may
prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2. Be renewed by His Word.
