4. Grieve according to God's will
• 2Cor. 7:9 “Now I rejoice, not that you were
made sorry, but that your sorrow led to
repentance. For you were made sorry in a
godly manner, that you might suffer loss from
us in nothing.”
• 2Cor. 7:10 “For godly sorrow produces
repentance leading to salvation, not to be
regretted; but the sorrow of the world
produces death.”

• Heb. 6:4 “For it is impossible for those who were
once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly
gift, and have become partakers of the Holy
Spirit,”
• Heb. 6:5 “and have tasted the good word of God
and the powers of the age to come,”
• Heb. 6:6 “if they fall away, to renew them again
to repentance, since they crucify again for
themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an
open shame.”
• regret = repentance

7. By God's will sorrow
• 2Pet.3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise,
as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us,
not willing that any should perish but that all should
come to repentance.”
• John. 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave
His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life.”
• 【Jeremiah 29:11】「For I know the plans I have for
you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not
to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.。」

8. Worldly sorrows are death-killing
• Rom. 8:5 “For those who live according to the
flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh,
but those who live according to the Spirit, the
things of the Spirit. ”
• Rom. 8:6 “For to be carnally minded is death, but
to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
• Rom. 8:7 “Because the carnal mind is enmity
against God; for it is not subject to the law of God,
nor indeed can be.”
• Rom. 8:8 “So then, those who are in the flesh
cannot please God.”

9. Worldly sorrows are death-killing
• Matt. 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are
heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
• Ecclesiastes 2:26 To the person who pleases him, God
gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the
sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up
wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God.
This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
• 【Psalm 90:10】「Our days may come to seventy
years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of
them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass,
and we fly away.」

10. Worldly sorrows are death-killing
• Proverbs 29:25 Fear of man will prove to be a
snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.
• Col. 2:8 “Beware lest anyone cheat you through
philosophy and empty deceit, according to the
tradition of men, according to the basic principles
of the world, and not according to Christ.”
• 1John. 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect
love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.
But he who fears has not been made perfect in
love.”

11. deadly
• Rom. 5:21 “so that as sin reigned in death, even so
grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
• Col. 2:20 “Therefore, if you died with Christ from the
basic principles of the world, why, as though living in
the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations--”
• Col. 2:21 “"Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle,"”
• Gal. 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no
longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life
which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of
God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
