Invitation First Seminar of DPO-PRO DPO S 2018 - March 5th, 2018

1. As a professional association, DPO-pro facilitates sharing experience and best practices
through targeted events that help DPOs in their day-to-day activities.
We hereby invite you to the first and highly anticipated seminar for DPO’s. Now that
companies are accelerating the implementation of their GDPR strategy towards May
25, it can prove challenging to balance legal requirements with business needs and to
turn a GDPR strategy into an operational reality. Furthermore, the number of privacy
tech product and service vendors is growing rapidly and DPO’s are struggling to
separate the wheat from the chaff. As the union for DPO professionals in Belgium, we
want to help our members in guiding the implementation of their companies/clients
and navigate the privacy tech landscape through live demos.
During the morning, various experts will talk about legal, technical and practical topics
with one common thread... actionable recommendations around dealing with GDPR.
In the afternoon, you can to get to know different privacy tech solution providers
during company presentation and workshop sessions.
De Beroepsvereniging DPO-pro faciliteert het delen van praktische kennis en ervaring
door events en workshops. Wij nodigen u dan ook graag uit op het eerste en
veelbelovend seminarie voor DPO’s.

Na een korte herhaling over de principes van de GDPR wordt dieper ingegaan op de
aansprakelijkheid en statuut van zowel de externe DPO als de interne DPO. Enkele
contractuele clausules (duur, aansprakelijkheidsbeperking …) worden voor beiden
toegelicht, evenals een luikje verzekeringen.

, 2018 is no end and 100 % compliancy does not exist and is not feasible. So,
what to do to sustain your compliancy level, what actions are needed on a regular
basis. (Maintenance of the register, new DPIA’s, new processors, Data subjects
exercising their rights, Data breaches to be handled, …) Bavo will guide you with
practical advice on how to cope with this. After all you do not want a hangover the day
after.

Asking consent in practice requires a balancing act between compliance and user-
friendliness, between specificity and simplicity, between completeness and
information overload. Thomas will share guidelines and concrete options for a
balanced information display related to cookies. He will also give a brief overview of
several cookie consent management vendors.

Alhoewel de GDPR zelf niet uitblinkt van heerlijk helder taalgebruik schrijven artikel 12
en Recital 39 nochtans wel voor dat “Overeenkomstig het transparantiebeginsel
moeten informatie en communicatie in verband met de verwerking van die
persoonsgegevens eenvoudig toegankelijk en begrijpelijk zijn, en moet duidelijke en
eenvoudige taal worden gebruikt.” In toepassing van de heerlijk helder-campagne
(https://heerlijkhelder.be/) bespreken we een aantal “best practices”.
