2. This project was to research and
recreate a Classic novel and bring
it up to date for the newer
generations to appreciate. I found
images to layer, blend and work
together while also adjusting the
coloring to create the mood for
this project. The goal was to set a
new tone with bolder colors.
The connection between the
original storyline are kept the
same but creates a modern feel
through the type and coloring.

Acrylic on Paper
Our week three assignment in Color Theory was to
take our knowledge of different color techniques and
apply them to a still life composition. This painting is
done in cool tone shadows and warm highlights. I
utilized double complementary coloring scheme to
showcase this principle. The values were created with
different tones of each hue and brought together in this
expressive piece.

Adobe InDesign
This was our final project in Type and
Layout. We were to find a Graphic
Designer of our choice and create a 10
page booklet showcasing their work and
achievements.
I chose Paula Scher because of my
connection to her work and her bold
design choices.
The challenge for this project was to
communicate her work and style without
being too busy. Many revisions went
towards this project to keep with the tone
of the artist.

Impossible Travel Neverland

Adobe Photoshop
The Impossible Travel was one
of my favorite pieces to create.
Early in the stages of drawing up
ideas I knew I wanted to create
a whimsical and out of this world
feel. The images are meant to
blend and make you look twice. I
utilized layering, blending modes
and my selection tool to create
the coloring of the islands in
hopes of giving that Neverland
appearance.

Mixed Charcoal and Paper
Our final piece in Drawing 1 was to create a still life
composition of at least five items and show the light
source in our work. I chose a variety of things I enjoy or
use daily and positioned them to create this composition to
create depth and bring forth a sense of unity. I utilized a
variety of charcoal medium to achieve my values in this
piece.
7. The process of this project was to research and bring
together a new look of currency for a country that needed
updating.
I chose Brazil as my country and utilized the mixed culture,
vibrant colors and landmarks that mark this country a tourist
hot spot. I started with researching the culture and the area
to find inspiration and then worked rough thumbnail
sketches and then started to develop my work in Illustrator. I
used layering and different color gradients to achieve the
look of this project.

8. Typography
Our final project in Typography design was to pick
a Nobel Prize winner and create a poster design
for their work and accomplishments. I chose Lord
Alexander Todd and his extensive work in
Chemistry.
For this design, I wanted to bring a more updated
version of the winner and utilized bright coloring
while also created a glow with graphics of the
drawings of Nucleotides and Co Enzymes.

Photography
This was one of our first projects that I worked on in 4D stills. The capturing of a
movement or action was to be depicted with our photos. The planning behind this
was to make sure to capture not only the action but have it in a 5 step sequence.
I enjoyed this project because it gave me an in depth understanding of capturing
movement and planning as well as composition in my images.

Local, Optical and Arbitrary Colors

Acrylic on paper
This artwork was done in week 5 of Topics of Color and was to
represent our knowledge of the difference between Local, Optical and
Arbitrary coloring.
I chose the colors with the idea in mind to create a drastic change from
each color scheme with everyday objects that might change with
lighting and mood. This project helped in understanding of color and
overall technique.

Adobe InDesign
In this piece we were to find an everyday household
item and showcase it with at least three linking photos
of the parts that make up our specific item.
I created hierarchy through my images and type and
created a balanced composition. The use of the
different close up images and the way they are
positioned is what made me really connect to this
piece and the use of our knowledge of typography
from previous classes.

Lighting Technique

DSLR Camera
This assignment was to capture different lighting
techniques from natural hard and soft light. This picture
was captured with my DSLR camera at an ISO of 400 and
aperture at 4.5 with shutter speed at 1/1000 to create a
sharper image and more pronounced photograph. I chose
this photograph not only from my personal connection but
because it shows a new and different view with the added
technique and lighting.

Poster Design for Event

This was our first project in Vector Illustration in
poster design. Our goal was to inform an audience
of an issue or event that was being taken place. I
went with a local event in my area. I utilized my pen
tool as well as layering and different effects to
create this Kaleidoscope feel while still conveying
the message of the event.
