loving books and reading, they probably need to find a job in a bookstore, because a
love for reading is not a key skill for many librarians, and it certainly isn’t for school
librarians.” made in Chapter 3 of Technology Handbook for School Librarians to be very
interesting. I remember when I was in college, the first time, I had a friend that couldn’t
decide what she wanted to do. She loved to read, and couldn’t keep her nose out of
books. I told her she should become a librarian. Thankfully she didn’t heed my advice,
because as I have learned from the courses I am taking now being a librarian isn’t about
loving to read. It has become more and more about the technologies that can be used
to help student’s reference and research topics they are learning in the classroom.
Technology is something I am very interested in, so I feel like I have made the right
choice in the library media master’s program I have chosen.
