The document summarizes the fall of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. It describes two fatal crashes involving Lion Air Flight 610 in October 2018 and Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 in March 2019, killing all passengers and crew on both flights. The crashes occurred shortly after takeoff when the aircraft's nose suddenly pitched down in both incidents. The document further explains that Boeing installed MCAS (Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System) software in the 737 MAX to compensate for engine placement, but the system relied on a single sensor and was not adequately explained to pilots, which likely contributed to the crashes.

3. WHAT IS MEANT FALL OF BOEING 737 MAX 8?
LION AIR FILGHT 610
On October 29, 2018, Lion Air Flight 610, 737 MAX 8 registration PK-LQP,
plunged into the Java Sea 13 minutes after takeoff from Soekarno–Hatta
International Airport, Jakarta, Indonesia. The flight was a scheduled domestic
flight to Depati Amir Airport, Pangkal Pinang, Indonesia. All 189 on board died.
This was the first fatal aviation accident and first hull loss of a 737 MAX.
Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302
On March 10, 2019, Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302, 737 MAX 8 registration ET-
AVJ, crashed approximately six minutes after takeoff from Addis
Ababa, Ethiopia, on a scheduled flight to Nairobi, Kenya, killing all 149
passengers and 8 crew members on board. The aircraft was four months old
at the time. The cause of the crash is unclear as of March 19, 2019, though
the aircraft's vertical speed after takeoff was reported to be
unstable. According to Ethiopian transport minister Dagmawit Moges, on
April 4, the crew "performed all the procedures repeatedly provided by the
manufacturer but was not able to control the aircraft".
After these two incidents many countries have banned the use of Boeing max
over their airspace and at least 26 airlines have grounded these planes.
4. What is the reason behind the crashing of Boeing 737 max 8?
In order to understand the reason we have to start from the beginning, there is two
biggest aircraft manufacture company Boeing and airbus. They have direct rivalry in the
market .if one of the companies can offer a better plan then other company can lose a
lot of money.
In November 2010 airbus decided to update its A320 plane into A320neo by using a
new kind and larger engine which made the model more fuel efficient. By buying these
aircraft, the airline would save a lot of money.
In order to compete airbus, Boeing upgrade their model by using a larger engine but
there was one issue that there was not enough room for air to pass under its engine
because height of the Boeing 737 was low as compared to the height of the Airbus
A320.
5. however, they figured out way to place a larger engine in its model by moving the engine
slightly higher on the wing.737 Max became the most selling plane in the market.

than its wing
6. Moving the engine up had an side effect that whenever 737 max 8 in full throttle (full
speed), the nose of the plane tend to move up from its ideal flight path. These kinds of
planes were supposed to behave exactly as same 737 models.

So Boeing came with work around by installing software in the plane in which a sensor was
setup in the nose. Whenever, the nose of the plan diverted up from its ideal path, the
software automatically bring down nose of the plane to its ideal path. This software is
known as maneuvering characteristic augmentation system (MCAS).
The training material provided by the company to train pilots did not mention MCAS system.

the Java Sea 13 minutes after takeoff from Soekarno–Hatta International Airport, Jakarta.
Image of flight report of lion air flight 610 shows that the plane was nosing down many time
during its flight as computer sensor of the MCAS system were getting wrong data and at
23:32 it crashed into the java sea.
