Overview
4. Social Learning
Social learning happens
using social media tools
and through extended
access and conversations
with all our connections in
our workplaces, our
communities, and online.
Facilitators use social
media tools to collaborate
interactions between
learners, between learners
and educators and
between learners and
content.
These are social media sites that
promote social learning in a way
that the learner can do
everything from viewing videos
or posting videos on learning to
ideas on teaching. Online
learning and working remotely is
allowing this relationship to
become revolutionary.

5. Problem-Solving through
Social Learning
Employees can use social media to find colleagues
with similar experiences and informally circulate
helpful information about what consumers want, fix
issues that may arise and advance their
organizations
Focus on building a new leadership mindset that
rewards innovation, experimentation, learning and
customer-centric design thinking.
Builds company culture where they interact with
team members, managers, customers, venders, and
contractors.
Employees will be equipped with methods and
ways to manage on-the-job stress, which will create
a healthier and happy employee who will also be
more productive.

6. Addressing Business
Issues and Strengthening
Relationships
The benefit of using social learning is that there can
be options that are flexible in timing and flexible in
content. When an employee gets to choose what
they are improving their skills on, an employee
takes ownership of their own learning and the
enthusiasm for learning is now embedded in that
employee’s perspective on their job performance
and the organization they are working for.
An employee can align training to their needs than
an employee independently can grow. Not all
employees are struggling in the same department
of their position and offering various levels of
knowledge and training opportunities as well as
social learning through collaboration with those
that are either struggling in similar ways.
When social media is used in an organization there
needs to be a clear social media policy in place that
does not discourage social learning but prevents
the organization from being liable for the misuse of
the tool and resources.
