1. The Executive Leadership Program
The Executive Leadership Program offers Fulton County employees a three-day training program
tailored to your needs. This program will develop traits in your executive leaders such as improving productivity,
collaborating with others, communicating effectively, and being an engaged employee.
The UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government will customize The Executive Leadership Program in collaboration
with Fulton County to specifically address your organization’s leadership needs. Through this program, together
we can work to serve the needs of your community.

The Executive Leadership Program Class Size
The Carl Vinson Institute of Government recommends that participants in The Executive Leadership Program
be divided into two groups of 24 to support our goal of engaged learning for all attendees. The curriculum
can be presented in three consecutive days or three single-day offerings over three weeks.
Getting Started
Contact the Institute of Government to establish a final budget based on the pricing options listed. Once a
memorandum of understanding is in place, curriculum development will begin on July 1, 2016, with the first
group of 24 participants starting the program in mid-August.
Developing Your Customized Program
Responses to the attached assessment questions will assist The Executive Leadership Program trainers in
tailoring the curriculum, course agenda, and materials for Fulton County. You will have input throughout
the curriculum development process. A sample course description and agenda for a current Institute class is
provided as an example.

with Three Days of Instruction per Group
The options below are based on the location of the training and whether
the Institute of Government’s 360-degree assessment tool for government
managers is included in The Executive Leadership Program. More

Additional assessment tools may also be used, depending on the
customized curriculum.

GOV360®
is an online 360-degree assessment tool designed to address the unique circumstances of the government
workplace. It is typically combined with one-on-one coaching sessions for personalized leadership development.
BEST is an assessment tool that helps individuals determine their preferred communication style in their work and
personal life based on four primary styles.
CSS is an assessment tool designed to help participants identify their personal communication styles in day-to-day
interactions and under stress in order to improve their communication with others.
