2. EOM
 Extraocular movement
 Extraocular muscle function testing is an
examination of the function of the eye
muscles. A doctor observes the movement of
the eyes in six specific directions.

3. REM
 Rapid eye movement
 is the stage of sleep characterized by rapid
saccadic movements of the eyes.

4. EENT
 Eye, ear, nose and throat

5. OD (Ocular Dexter)
 Right eye

6. OS (Ocular Sinister)
 Left eye

7. HEENT
 Head, ears, eyes, nose, throat

8. BC
 Bone conduction
 Bone conduction is the reason why a
person's voice sounds different to him/her
when it is recorded and played back.
Because the skull conducts lower
frequencies better than air, people perceive
their own voices to be lower and fuller than
others do.

9. PE tube
 Pressure tube equalizing
 a small cylindric device placed through an
incision in the tympanic membrane to relieve
problems of the middle ear, such as fluid
accumulation or auris media infection caused
by eustachian tube dysfunction.

10. SOM
 Serous otitis media
 Serous otitis media describes a collection of
fluid in the middle ear.

11. VA
 Visual acuity
 is acuteness or clearness of vision, which is
dependent on the sharpness of the retinal
focus within the eye and the sensitivity of the
interpretative faculty of the brain.
