Fulbright – Executive Master of Public
Administration Award at NYU Wagner
One award will be offered to a British citizen, who is a mid-career professional, to
pursue a semester in the US at NYU Wagner School of Public Service as part of the
jointly run Global EMPA with University College London.
The Fulbright Award semester will be spent at New York University Wagner Graduate
School of Public Service in New York City and will take place during the autumn. Grantees
will then return to the UK to complete a second semester at University College London. No
additional funding is available for British citizens from the Fulbright Commission for this UK-
based second semester.
Applicants to the Global EMPA at NYU Wagner and University College London should have
at least 7 years of management-level experience, and be either a rising leader, or already in
an executive position. Please review all admissions criteria for the UCL/NYU Wagner course
to make sure you are eligible before applying for this scholarship.
Benefits
This award provides $12,000 for the first semester of the course, and is intended as a
contribution towards the grantee's general maintenance costs whilst in the US. It is paid in
instalments directly to the grantee. NYU Wagner will also waive tuition internally for the
grantee for the Autumn semester.
A number of memberships and visa sponsorship are also included with the grant. Grantees
would need to take out the NYU sponsored health insurance plan. The Commission offers
substantial pre-departure support, including a Finalists Workshop (March) and a 2-
day Orientation Programme(July).
The award holder will join an impressive group of Fulbright alumni including Pulitzer and
Nobel Prize winners. Our alumni enjoy access to a vast network of former Fulbright
awardees and participate in a range of cultural and social events.
